This is a oneshot songfic that I got the idea for after reading a chapter of Lessons In Being Sexy by Kennedy's Friday Night Delight.
Carmi belongs to Kennedy's Friday Night Delight. The song used is Falling by McAlmont & Butler.

Enjoy!

Carmichael Helms lay on the bed in the house of Diamond Dallas Page in Georgia. She silently twiddled her multicoloured streaks between her fingers as cool evening air drifted through the open window. The Carolina native couldn't help but wish for a familiar pair of arms that would embrace her and make her feel that she was protected. Those arms belonged to John Hennigan.

Feeling lost and I don't wanna be here
Burning up inside the atmosphere
If I should spread my wings I could fly away
But I don't wanna stay up here all night

But he hadn't protected her, had he? After all, it was him that had gotten her pregnant and cheated on her before she miscarried their baby. It wasn't John whom she bared her soul to as she came to terms with losing a second child. That job was left to both Mike and Page. Carmi had spent her life claiming that she didn't need to be protected, but John changed all of that. With John, Carmi was truly content, or at least she thought that she was.

And if you take my hand, you could take command
Can't you hear me calling I'm falling
Won't you take my hand, won't you understand?
Can't you hear me calling I'm falling

Now the brunette was vaguely aware of feeling like this before. She had felt it with both her previous boyfriends, it was love and longing and want. Only with John, the feeling was intensified and only got more intense as she attempted to ignore it. This was serious. The baby Hurricane knew that she falling hard, without a net. Carmi was always determined to be as extreme as her fellow Carolina natives, but now things were different.

See the world below and I'm floating by
All alone here in the fearless sky
Feeling weightless please don't let me go
Cause I need you so, tonight, tonight

The baby Hurricane had done her best to avoid 'love' after being burned one too many times. When she had first met John, it was purely business, but now she couldn't begin to imagine a life without him. It occurred to Carmi, that he was as much a part of her as she was of him. They were corresponding pieces of some jigsaw puzzle that belonged side by side. The Carolina native fiddled with the ring on her finger, that was a gift from John, a promise ring. He promised to never hurt her again, but that was obviously a lie.

If you take my hand, you could take command
Can't you hear me calling I'm falling
Won't you take my hand, won't you understand?
Can't you hear me calling I'm falling

The sky at night is cool when your feet are on the ground
But I need your sense of gravity
Something to pull me down

Falling

The rain began to fall down outside. Carmi rolled over in order to see out of the window. She couldn't explain what she was feeling, but it didn't really matter. Page had already worked it out for himself. Carmi was certain that it was just as clear to the others in the family. She wasn't even sure if she was falling. Maybe she already fell for him, before she knew it herself.

If you take my hand, you could take command
Can't you hear me calling I'm falling
Won't you take my hand, won't you understand?
Can't you hear me calling I'm falling
For you

Falling
For you
