Olivia tiptoed into the bedroom, not daring to turn on the lights so as not to wake Alex. She crept toward the bed and then – "Fuck!" Olivia screamed as something hard and burning hot collided with her leg. She stumbled and nearly tripped.

Alex shot up straight in bed, flipping on the bedside light. "Liv, are you okay?" she asked, rubbing her eyes.

"No." Olivia grabbed her ankle and hopped toward the bed, wincing as she sat down beside Alex. "Why the hell did you leave the heater in the middle of the room?"

Alex shrugged. "It fills the room better that way. Why the hell didn't you turn on a light?"

"I didn't want to wake you." She grimaced, examining her reddening ankle. "I think I have second degree burns."

"Look where you're going and that won't happen next time," said Alex unsympathetically.

"Baby," whined Olivia. "I need that aloe stuff."

Alex yawned. "Get it yourself. I'm tired."

"What have you been doing for the last three hours, sleeping? I've been working."

"Mm." Alex rolled over and cupped her hands behind her head, closing her eyes. "You'll live."

Olivia crawled over to her. "Sometimes I wonder why we're together at all."

"Because we've got good chemistry in bed," muttered Alex.

"We do," agreed Olivia, making a face as her ankle started to swell. "Alex."

Alex turned to face Olivia. "Give me."

Olivia lay on her side and Alex picked up her ankle. She kissed it gently, then smiled at her girlfriend.

"There. I kissed it better."

Olivia couldn't help but smile back. "Your lips have the power of healing. My angel."

Alex shrugged modestly, wrapping her arms around Olivia. "You cans sleep now?"

"Mm." Olivia nodded, snuggling close to Alex. "But next time the heater gets left in the middle of the bedroom, I'm smashing it."
