Hello! This was written for the Try Something New challenge on HPFC. I'm sorry if Draco seems a little non-cannon. Basically, I feel that he'd have changed a bit after the war. So, hope you enjoy it!

Peace and Love,

~Tanna

Draco stood up and walked down from the study when he heard the sound of luggage dropping to the floor echoing through the manor. He walked quickly – he was excited to see his son, even if he didn't tell anyone.

Scorpius smiled brightly when he saw his dad. The seventh-year, as old as he was, still ran to give his father a hug, and eagerly pulled him to the sitting room so they could catch up. It might've only been Easter break, but a lot had happened for both of them.

As they talked, Draco sensed that his son was avoiding something. He didn't want to prod, but was naturally curious; Astoria just thought he was nosy. "Look, Scorpius, I know you're hiding something. I promise that I won't be mad if you just tell me."

Scorpius paled considerably. "Well, I... I uh..."

"Scorpius-"

The boy took a deep breath. "I'm in love with Rose."

Draco took a minute to think. "Rose...Weasley?" His hands clenched at his sides when his son nodded. Inwardly, he scolded himself. Hadn't he promised himself that he be a better father than his dad was to him?

During this rant, he didn't notice his son pull out a small box.

"Dad, I want to ask her to marry me when we get back from break." The boy was almost trembling before his father., vaguely remembering his display of anger when he found out that his son was a Ravenclaw.

"Dad, I-"

His father took a deep breath. "I'm okay with it. I think."

Scorpius brightened up. "Oh, thanks dad! I have to go tell Hugo and Al!" He ran forward and hugged his dad.

Draco dropped into the chair he'd been sitting in earlier. Astoria appeared from around the corner and smiled at him.

"I'm proud of you."
