"They've gotta be," Emily Prentiss whispered intently.
"I stand by my earlier statement. I don't see it." JJ says, leaning her chin placidly on her hand, propped up on her elbow, which rests on her desk.
"How can you not see it? It's practically a beacon." says Prentiss, gesturing emphatically from where she stands, bent over at the waist behind Jereau's chair.
Garcia wanders over, nibbling on a banana muffin from the break room, grinning already. "Talking about what I think you are?" she asks knowingly, standing beside Emily.
"Really, Penny, I don't see it. You guys are making stuff up!" whispers JJ, trying to keep her voice down for the benefit of Rossi, who's filling out paperwork not two or three desks over.
Emily shakes her head. "See how low Morgan's hand is sitting on Reid's shoulder?" she says of the two agents, the older of which is standing behind the younger's chair, helping the genius with specifics.
"And why does a genius with an eidetic memory need help with paperwork? This is what he's good at!" Penelope says, scoffing.
"Because, Garcia, Spence has an overwhelming tendency to over-think specifics. Sometimes he needs a voice there to keep him on track. I've done it loads of times." JJ says defensively of her son's godfather, understanding his troubles. "And as for your observation, Emily, Morgan is larger than most men. He needs to brace his weight lower." Jennifer says with finality, proud of her logic.
"But do you see the way Reid's leaning in to my Derek?" Garcia says, with mock jealousy in her tone.
"He's making sure he's heard. And look at how he's leaning to the side, away from Morgan!" JJ argues, though her arguments are getting less and less sound.
"Look at the muscles in his neck. It's forced." Prentiss observes, smug. "They're hiding it."
"Look! Look!" Garcia says excitedly, bouncing a little. "See how Derek's arm muscles are working? He's massaging his shoulder!"
"He's focusing!" JJ says, affronted.
"Look at the eye contact. They're practically making out with their eyes!" Emily whispers with glee.
"Reid always looks like that when he's concentrating." JJ mentions half-heartedly, partly because she knows she'll never convince the other two girls, more-so because she's beginning to see it.
"Aw, Derek's leaving him alone!" Garcia pouts.
"Do you see that, JJ? How often do you see Reid's eyebrows waggle? Suggestively?" says Prentiss, as smug as the cat that caught the canary.
JJ is silent for a moment, then sighs. "They're a couple." But she smiles, showing her happiness for Henry's godfather and her close friend.
Morgan is leaning over Reid's desk, pretending to help him with paperwork, if only to be close to him. But the sentimental move is turned sour by the whispers that can clearly be heard from JJ's desk. He pats Reid on the shoulder, smirking. "I'm sorry, Lover Boy, but I can't take that drone coming from their desk." he says apologetically.
Reid nods, but stops dead, half-way through it, a devilish grin on his face. Morgan halts. Spencer's smiles are never "devilish." "Would you like to really give them something to whisper about?" he says with a small waggle of his eyebrows.
Morgan's eyes widen in surprise, his eyebrows rise, but then he gets it. And he's proud of his baby boy for being so inappropriate. He smirks, taking a surreptitious look around for any higher-ups that might catch them, and follows Reid in when the younger man grabs a fistful of his shirt and pulls. Their lips press together in what looks like passion, but both men know it's the sweetest kiss they've shared.
The screams of glee from across the room are deafening.

everyone always sort of vaguely mentions the fact that a relationship is hard to keep from profilers. i thought i'd elaborate as to why.
