Disclaimer: I don't own the Total Drama series but I do own Laya, her brothers and the idea of Tyler's parents

Here it is, the last chapter of Helping You. I hope you have enjoyed the story.

Enjoy the final chapter.

Tyler was laying on a cloud. He opened his eyes and sat up. He looked around, wondering where he is. Is he...in heaven?

A bright light appeared. It shone so brightly that Tyler had to shield his eyes from the light. A female angel appeared. She have long, blonde hair tied in a ponytail; olive green eyes; and she wore a long, white dress that reached below her knees.

Tyler knew immediately who the angel was.

"Bridgette?" he was surprised to see her. Bridgette smiled and approached him. "Don't be afraid, Tyler. You're safe from your father. He'll no longer harm you." she said calmly and helped him off the cloud.

A pair of wings grew out of his back and a halo appeared above his head. "Come, let me take you to the paradise." Bridgette said and reached her hand out to him. Tyler stared at her, hesitating a bit before he grabbed her hand. They both started to fly.

It took a while before they arrived to the paradise. Bridgette landed perfectly on one of the clouds, but Tyler nearly fall when he tried to land. Luckily, he grabbed onto the edge of the clouds.

"Are you okay?" Bridgette asked concernedly but remained calm.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just need to get up." Tyler told her, attempting to get up on the cloud. After a few attempts, he finally managed to get up on it. He looked around. He could see there are other angels. Some of the contestants from the show are there too.

"Hello Tyler and welcome to the heaven." Harold greeted him with a smile when he saw him.

"Hey Harold." Tyler greeted back, waving at him. But then he realized something and his eyes widened. "Wait a minute. Am I dead?"

Bridgette just smiled. "No, not really. You just went unconscious when you got shot by your father."

"Wait, what?!"

"Tyler?" he heard a female voice call out to him. "Tyler, are you awake?" the voice continued to chant his name over and over. He didn't know who it was because all he could see is the darkness.

Tyler opened slowly his eyes and looked around, seeing he is in a hospital. He saw there is the doctor and Laya. They both looked at him the moment he woke up. "What happened? What am I doing here?" Tyler asked them. He was completely confused.

"You have been shot. We managed to remove the bullet." the doctor explained to him.

"Tyler, you're awake." Laya said, smiling at him.

"Laya!" Tyler exclaimed happily but when he quickly sat up, he felt the stinging pain in his left shoulder. "OW!"

"You have to settle down for a while or else you'll get more pain in your shoulder." the doctor reminded him. The jock smiled sheepishly in response.

Laya smiled and hugged her friend. "I'm just glad that you're okay."

Tyler smiled in return. "I'm glad to see you're okay too. But...how long have I been unconscious?"

"You have been in a coma for a week."

"Wow, that long?"

"It could be worse. You could have been in a coma for months or maybe even for a year."

Laya turned to the doctor. "So, how is he?"

"He'll be fine enough to be discharged today. He just need to rest his shoulder." the doctor told them. "I believe I'll let you two be alone."

After the doctor left the room, Tyler and Laya is now alone in the room. Tyler got off the bed. He was about to change his clothes into his regular one until he remembered Laya was there too. He blushed a little as he glanced at her. "Would you please turn around?" he asked her. Laya nodded and turned around. "And no peeking!"

"No, of course not."

"So, what happened while I was in the coma?"

"After you got sent to the hospital, Gary and I went home to our mom. We told her the whole story. We have been visiting you every day. Your dad got arrested for child abuse and attempted murder. He is in jail and he won't hurt you anymore. And our lawyer have filed the restraining order for you a few days ago."

"Okay, you can look now." Tyler said. Laya turned around to see he is dressed. She noticed the sad look on his face, while he was glancing down on the floor.

"Hey, what's wrong? I thought you'd be glad to be saved."

"Don't get me wrong. I'm glad that he finally got what he deserved but...now I have nowhere to go."

"Don't worry, we'll figure it out."

"Hey, can we come in now?" they heard a male voice. It was Gary who stood by the door.

Laya smiled at him. "Of course, you can."

Gary entered the room, then he was followed by Matt. He was holding a bouquet and Tyler's baggage and gave them to them. "Hi Tyler. How is it going?" Matt asked him, a soft smile on his face.

The clumsy jock smiled, receiving the bouquet. "I'm fine, though my shoulder hurts a bit."

What he didn't expect was when he saw Cody by the door. What was he doing here? He looked curiously at them. "Hey, can I and the others get in?" he asked them.

"Yes, you can." Matt replied.

"Others? What did he mean by that?" Tyler asked them, having a puzzled look on his face.

"You'll see." Gary said to him, smiling at him. To the jock's surprise, all the contestants – even Heather – from the show entered the room. Some of them were holding bouquests. Lindsay ran and embraced her boyfriend. "Oh Tyler, I am so glad you're alive!" she squealed.

Tyler smiled and hugged her back. "I'm glad to see you too, babe."

Laya, who watched the moment, couldn't help but feel a little jealous. She is glad that Tyler have someone who could make him happy but sometimes she wished it could be her. Cody noticed she looked sadly down on the floor. He walked to her and placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Don't be sad. I know what you are going through." Cody whispered to her. "But at least, Tyler is happy and you should be too."

"I know and I am happy for him. But I just can't help it sometimes." Laya whispered back.

"Yeah, I know how you feel. Even though Gwen used to date Trent, I still love her." Cody said, smiling a little.

"You guys seems to be rather close. Do you know each other?" Bridgette asked them.

"Yes, we are actually cousins." Cody told them. Tyler was surprised by this revelation. Another thing came to his mind. "How did you guys know where I was?" he asked them.

"After you got at the hospital, my cousins called me and told me the story, then I called the others and told them the same." Cody explained.

"Wait, how did you guys get each others' phone numbers?" Tyler asked again.

"Don't you remember? After Total Drama Action ended, Chris made us exchange our phone numbers to each other." Gwen explained to him. Okay, that makes sense.

Tyler remembered that he did, in fact, get the others' phone numbers. He must have accidentally dropped them at one point and all the drama made him forget about it.

"Oh...that's right."

"Why didn't you tell us that you had an abusive father?" Harold asked him. "We could have helped you."

"I know but I was afraid that my dad would kill if he finds out." Tyler explained.

"At least, you don't have to worry about it anymore." Courtney said and smiled. "Oh! And we have a special surprise for you." she added.

"Really? What kind of surprise?" Tyler asked excitedly.

"I think you might know her. We met her before we came here." Bridgette told him. A grown woman entered the room. The clumsy jock got surprised when he saw her. She have short, brown hair that almost reached her shoulders; blue eyes; she wore a blue jacket, black shirt, red skirt and black high heels.

"Hi Tyler." she greeted gently.

Tyler have an idea of who she could be. He have once seen pictures of her. The only difference was her hair were longer on the picture.

"Mom?"

The woman smiled softly. "Yes. That's me."

There was a long silence. They stared at each other. Matt, his younger siblings and the contestants watched them with curiosity, wondering what will happen next. Tears formed in Tyler's eyes and he smiled. "Mommy!" he exclaimed happily and ran to her, hugging her. His mother smiled and hugged her son back. Many contestants found this moment very sweet.

A mother and her son have been reunited.

When they loosened the hug, they looked at each other. Tyler looked very puzzled. "But I thought you were dead. Dad told me you were." he said.

"I think your dad have lied to you."

"We should give them some time alone." Matt whispered to the others. They all nodded in agreement and quietly left the room.

"Tyler, I am so glad to finally see you again." his mother said.

"I'm glad to see you too. But where have you been in all those years?"

"It's a long story, so you might want to sit." she replied. Tyler nodded and sat on the bed. His mother sat beside him. "Long time ago before you were born, your father and I met when we were in college and we fell in love. I thought he was my true love but when we both finished college and we got married, I learned quickly I was wrong."

"What happened?"

"We fought all the time. No matter what the subject was, we would always have a disagreement. We couldn't even decide about your name when I was pregnant with you. Nine months later, I gave birth to you. While you were a baby, your dad didn't help so much taking care of you. One day, after you turned one year old, I had enough and we filed for a divorce."

"I understand. But why didn't you take me with you?"

"I do want to take you with me, I really do. But unfortunately, your dad managed to win the custody of you. After that happened, I had to leave the city to forget my former marriage. But I never stopped thinking of you and I've always waited for the day where I could see you again."

"But how did you recognize me? I'm sure that I looked very different back then when I was a baby."

"To be honest, I wasn't completely sure at first. When that reality-show, Total Drama Island, started to air and you made your introduction, I have the feeling of you could be my son. I know that it sounds weird but it was how it felt." she smiled softly at him. "Looks like I was right."

Tyler smiled in return. He was glad to know that he have a mother. A mother who is more caring than his father ever was.

"How did it go?" Beth was the first to ask when Tyler and his mother left the hospital.

"Fine. Oh and one thing more." Tyler told them. He took a deep breath. "I'M FINALLY FREE!" he screamed at top of his lungs. The contestants, including Matt, Gary and Laya, cheered.

"What do we do now?" DJ asked.

"I suppose we can go home now." Gwen suggested.

They all said goodbyes to each other, then they all left to the bus station. "Bye Tyler." Lindsay said and cupped Tyler's face. They shared a short but passionate kiss before Lindsay turned her heels and went with the others.

Tyler's mother glanced at Matt, Gary and Laya – the remaining people – and smiled at them. "The contestants told me that you three saved my son. I want to thank all of you. I wish there were a way to repay you." she said. She is really grateful that they saved her son's life.

"You don't have to. We're just glad that we could help." Gary assured her.

"Okay, I think we should go now. Mom is waiting for you two." Matt told his younger siblings. The all three turned to Tyler. "Sorry but we'll have to go home now."

"I'm gonna miss you, guys."

"We'll miss you too. But the goodbye isn't forever. We can still see each other one day." Gary told him.

Laya thought of an idea. She walked to Tyler and gave him a chaste kiss on his cheek, causing the jock to blush furiously. "It was because you saved me and I want to thank you for it." she told him before she went with her brothers.

The jock smiled. It had been dramatic and dangerous but at least, he's free. He is finally free and he is happy about it.

Yes, he is finally free :) and there was a sweet little moment between him and Laya.

I'd like to thank TDI-TrueDarkChris-07 for the idea with the contestants visiting him and his long-lost mother.
