After reading this story I realised one thing it was lame. So I scrapped it and re-wrote it xx

I'm feeling a little happier with it now (I think) I hope you all like it xx

The song is called I'm Not That Girl – it is taken from the musical Wicked – Music and Lyrics are by Stephen Swartz – I do not own the Song, lyrics

Neither do I own Jack, Sue or Allie they belong to PAX – I just borrowed them to complete this Fan fiction x

She didn't know what had possessed her to return to DC, his mother had informed her that he and Sue were married since the cancellation of the no dating policy, but she had to see it for herself.

It wasn't like she didn't believe her mother or even his mother she just had to see it for herself and there it was right in front her in Mario's bar, they were dancing together, laughing together and joking together with her diamond engagement ring and their wedding rings sparkling in the coloured lights that surrounded.

A wave of nausea plagued her, she had to get out of that room, that city, even the country if need be but her feet wouldn't let her, they refused to move she just stood there watching the couple in love dancing to a song. A song about them and her...

Hands touch, eyes meet
sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy
but I'm not that girl:

The two of them never needed words; there was more than friendship to their relationship, the two of them just never admitted it, she could see that the day in the hospital when she turned up. Jack looked almost angry though he hid it well and Sue, Sue looked jealous that I got to take care of him, but I always knew he wanted her there and not me

Don't dream too far
don't lose sight of who you are
don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl

Every so often we long to steal
to the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in

I prayed for the day where Jack would realise it was me he wanted and not her. I would sit there and picture my life with him. Some days everything would seem so real, so real that I couldn't sense the difference between real life and fantasy life. But the coldness and loneliness of my empty bed and the lack of his personal items around my home soon bought me back to the hard aching truth

Blithe smile, lithe limb
She who's winsome, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl:

"He was saved by his golden haired angel", that's how he described her when I asked him about the night of his heart arrhythmia and he wasn't talking about her dog. He even changed doctor's appointments when that Pete bloke was trying to set her up. I knew then I'd lost him to her, she was the one he wanted to be with not me.

Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl:

I really wish I could hate her, but I can't and that hurts the most. I can see why he loves her; she's gentle, friendly, smart, beautiful and compassionate she even has the support of Myles, Lucy and Bobby. The complete opposite of me, those three never seemed to like me. Lucy especially made this apparent whenever Sue was around. She always seemed to find little ways to get them together.

Well Lucy I guess you finally won; you got what you wanted Jack and Sue together while I'm left on the sidelines

As the song finished she stood up straight and whispered to herself

"It's time you realised it Ally, You're not that girl"

And with that she turned and walked out of the door, never once looking back
