Interlude: Set between Chapter 9 and 10, it would have Terra and Aqua waiting out a sudden rainstorm in the bailey and Aqua would ask Terra why he left during Chapter 7. Terra would reveal to Aqua his fears that not only would his darkness taint her, but that he lied to her and does remember some of his time as Xehanort. He furthers reveals he's scared that a part of Xehanort is still inside him. Aqua assures him she will help him purge Xehanort's influence but tells him that he can't hide the truth anymore, from her or the Restoration Committee. While he's reluctant too, he agrees he will tell Leon and the others the truth. The rain passes and they return to Merlin's cottage, never realizing they were being observed by Braig.

Chapter Ten: Terra would find Leon and try to explain the truth about his past as Xehanort and his involvement with Radiant Garden's destruction, when the Heartless from Space Paranoids suddenly show up. Terra and Leon work together for once to defeat them but even more begin to appear. Cloud intervenes to hold the Heartless off and allow Terra and Leon to head back into the village to warn the others. Cid informs Leon that Tron has been locked out of the system and the Heartless Plant is back online. Leon decides to order Tifa, Aqua and Yuffie to defend the village with Claymore's help while he and Terra head for Hollow Bastion to free Tron and deactivate the Plant. Stitch and Sparky want to help too and Leon lets them help the girls. Terra is surprised Leon wants his help and Leon explains its because he trusts Terra. This surprises everyone but makes Aqua and Aerith happy. With that, Leon and Terra race for Hollow Bastion, working together to destroy several groups of Heartless. They eventually make it to Ansem's computer but before Leon can free Tron, the plant is producing an extremely powerful Heartless. Terra decides to deal with it and runs down to fight it. The Heartless is a Tri-Guard Armor (Three Guard Armors fused into one) and it overwhelms him. Terra us about to use the Darkness when Cloud arrives and they work together to defeat the Tri-Guard Armor, using a duel Omnislash/Hero's Pride combo. Terra and Cloud meet up with Leon who has freed Tron. Tron shuts down the Plant and reveals a former User locked him out, and that he had a message for Terra. The message appears on the screen and is a single word: Gotcha. Terra realizes with horror this whole crisis was Braig's doing to get Aqua alone. The chaoter ends with Braig watching Aqua.

Chapter Eleven: The girls wrap up the Heartless and congratulate each other. Aqua spots Braig and convinces Tifa and Yuffie to leave. She chases after Braig and confronts him in the same area he fought Terra in BbS. Aqua demands that Braig stop whatever he has planned and Braig only retorts that's he just having some fun with his old friends. Aqua makes it clear she won't let him hurt Terra again and Braig only laughs in her face, saying she can't sop him. Stitch and Sparky show up to give Aqua some back up and a battle breaks out. At first it seems Aqua has the advantage but Braig ups his powers and makes short work of Stitch and Sparky, badly hurting them before overwhelming Aqua with the same desperation attack he used in Body and Soul. Afterwards, he badly beats Aqua and tells her, "You hold Terra's heart...and I need to break it." He moves in to finish her when Leon and Yuffie arrive. Braig easily beats them using only his teleportation and some hand to hand (This is an easter egg for everyone who was mad at Yuffie and Leon at the beginning of the story.) Luckily, Tifa shows up and beats Braig back, forcing him to flee. Terra arrives with Aerith but when he sees the extent of Aqua's injuries, he hears Braig mocking him with "gotcha" over and over in his head before he snaps and gives into the darkness, screaming in rage. The Committee looks on in horror as Terra's eyes turn amber and the chapter ends.

Chapter Twelve: Terra attacks Tifa as she tries to calm him down but when he hears Aqua pleading with him to stop, he throws Tifa aside and runs away, in pain and shamed by his transformation. Leon orders Aerith and Yuffie to stay with Aqua while he chases after Terra. Leon catches up with Terra in the town square but Terra easily defeats him and breaks his arm and moves in to kill him when Tifa shows up. Tifa tries to knock some sense into Terra but he defeats her as well and continues chasing after Braig. He finds him in the shopping distract as it begins to rain and they battle. During the battle, Terra uses many of Xehanort's attacks to try and defeat Braig and his hair begins to turn silver. The sword Cloud gave Terra is destroyed during the fight and Terra resorts to his fists to beat Braig to a bloody pulp but stops when he catches his reflection in a puddle. Terra looks exactly like Xehanort now and the horror is enough to snap him out of his murderous daze. Braig mocks Terra for his weakness in not accepting the darkness and warns him that if he doesn't soon, he'll do something even worse to make him give in. Braig warps away to lick his wounds while Terra stumbles back to Merlin's cottage. He is not greeted with open arms and is threatened by Leon to leave and never return. Terra agrees and leaves Raidant Garden, heading for the Great Maw. The chapter ends with Cloud picking up the broken sword and looking at the destruction Terra caused.

Chapter Thirteen: Aqua is healed by Aerith and learns of Terra's rampage. She demands to know where Terra is from Leon but he refuses to tell her. Aqua goes to Cid instead and Cid uses Claymore to track Terra down, since he's now giving off so much darkness, he finds him in the Great Maw. Aqua goes to the Maw and finds Terra kneeling in a similar position as the Lingering Sentiment use too. She is horrified to see he still looks like Xehanort and Terra pleads with Aqua to put an end to him. When she refuses, he attacks her, forcing her to draw her Keyblade to defend herself. Terra begs Aqua to kill him so Braig will leave her alone but Aqua refuses, saying she loves him and is all she has left. Terra tells her he has to end Braig even if it means damning himself to darkness forever. He tells Aqua to leave and where to find her armor and real Keyblade. Aqua refuses at first but Terra ultimately convinces her. Before she leaves, she leaves him Master Keeper, though Terra refuses to touch it. Aqua goes to Hollow Bastion and finds the Chamber of Repose with Tron's help. After taking back her Keyblade and Armor, Aqua decides to honor Terra's wishes and leave. She bids the Restoration Committee goodbye and summons her Rider and Armor before leaving. Braig sees her leave and decides to follow in a Corridor of Darkness.

Chapter Fourteen: Aqua returns to Castle Oblivion, and finds the Chamber of Waking to check on Ven. She tells Ven she's failed to bring Terra back so they could wake him up an nearly breaks down over what she sees as her failings. Aqua sees Ven's Disney Town Pass slip from his pocket and realizes Mickey may be able to help her save Terra. Thanking Ven for his help, she promises she'll be back with Terra when she next returns and leaves, locking the Chamber behind her. As she leaves, Braig is again seen watching her go, with an evil grin on his face. The chapter ends with Terra being confronted by Ansem the Wise in the Great Maw.

Chapter Fifteen: The chapter opens with some antics between Mickey, Donald and Goofy in Disney Castle when Minnie announces someone has arrived. The trio head to the front of the castle and see Aqua land. Mickey is overjoyed to see her again. Aqua and Mickey catch up and then Aqua fills the Disney crew in on the situation so far. Mickey is shocked Terra is alive again and consoles Aqua when she begins to breakdown over her failure to help Terra. Mickey promises Aqua he will help her save Terra and tries to cheer her up when he reveals he knows where Ven's heart is. Aqua is overjoyed by this. Mickey orders Donald and Goofy to ready the gummi ship. Minnie sees Braig arrive in the Throne Room from a Corridor of Darkness and warns Mickey and Aqua. The two rush to the Throne and see Braig, but now he's giving off an aura of darkness and seems to be in pain. Mickey realizes the Cornerstone of Light is weakening Braig's dark powers. Aqua thinks this is her chance to finally stop him. Braig continues to remain confident and wants Aqua to come peacefully. Aqua refuses and says this time she will defeat Braig. Donald and goofy try to ambush Braig but he easily beats them back and attacks Aqua and Mickey. The two work together to overwhelm Braig and seemingly defeat him but Braig uses one final desperation attack to defeat Aqua and Mickey. He drags Aqua into a Corridor of Darkness and when Mickey demands to know where he's taking her, Braig cryptically replies that there is no place like home. He escapes but the Corridor of Darkness remains. Mickey begins to follow when Minnie screams someone else has appeared in the Throne. The chapter ends with Mickey seeing Terra stumble through a second Corridor of Darkness. his own dark aura out of control.

Chapter Sixteen: This chapter is a flashback of Terra and Ansem the Wise speaking, with Ansem expressing disappointment that Terra has repeated his mistakes and squandered his second chance. Terra says he has to use the darkness to stop Braig, but Ansem says another power will defeat his wayward apprentice and points to Eraqus's Keyblade. Terra says he is not worthy of wielding the Keyblade anymore. Ansem the Wise disagrees and tells Terra that while "In life, we receive many second chances...we only gain one chance for Redemption. This is yours." He summons a Corridor of Darkness and tells Terra to "Save your light". Ansem leaves and Terra contemplates for a moment. He then takes Master Keeper and plunges into the Corridor. Terra is placed next to the Cornerstone of Light, which purifies his heart of Xehanort's last remaining influences and returns him to normal. Mickey finds Terra and realizes who he is. The two properly introduce themselves and Mickey tells Terra Braig has Aqua. When Terra hears Mickey said something about home, he knows where he is and starts to head for the Corridor Braig left behind, but Mickey stops him and tells him there's something waiting for him. Mickey leads Terra to a hall that is a memorial to several fallen heroes (Cameos of several classic Final Fantasy characters.) Terra finds his armor and Keyblade and sheds tears of joy, before asking the armor to help one last time. We cut to Terra stepping through the corridor and arriving in front of Castle Oblivion. In a parallel to Lingering's secret ending, Terra confronts Braig and destroys several Heartless after summoning his armor and Keyblade. The chapter ends as Braig and Terra ready their final battle.

Chapter Seventeen: Terra and Braig duel in front of Castle Oblivion appearing evenly matched until Terra finally overwhelms him with his most powerful attacks. Braig retreats into the Castle and uses memories of Xehanort's crimes to try and overwhelm Terra with guilt. When Terra sees all the destruction Xehanort wrought with his own two hands, he seems to give up and falls to his knees in defeat. Braig prepares to execute Terra, declaring, "After so many have died, you have no right to live." Terra hears Ven and Aqua cry out his name and rises back up, deflecting Braig's attack and finally defeating him with Zantetsuken. Terra tells Braig, "I cannot deny the blood on my hands. And maybe I have no right to live when so many have suffered because of my mistakes...but I will live not for myself...I will live for the day those closest to me forgive me...and on that day I will have my redemption." Braig falls to his knees and chuckles once, saying, "Welcome back...Terra..." before collapsing, dead. Terra is lost in Castle Oblivion for a few moments before a memory of Ven guides him to the final room where Braig kept Aqua. Terra and Aqua reunite and Terra apologizes for pushing her away. The two head into the Chamber of Waking where Terra teases a sleeping Ven for making him do all the hard work. Aqua reveals to Terra what Mickey told her and Terra tells her they need to go back to Disney Castle then. They tell Ven they will be back soon and when they return, he'll finally be awake and they can be a family again. The chapter ends with Terra and Aqua leaving Castle Oblivion hand in hand.

Epilogue: The epilogue shows Sora and Riku arriving at Yen Sid's Tower to begin their Mark of Mastery exam. Yen Sid reveals that Mickey and Aqua will be observing their exam as per custom before telling them another will be joining them. Sora and Riku are shocked to see Terra arrive and the story ends with Terra saying this time he will succeed.
