Disclaimer; They're not mine. If they were, Kathy would have died in the car accident that occurred in the episode 'Paternity' and Elliot and Olivia would be living happily ever after. I'm sorry, my imagination tends to run wild.
Summary: He opened his eyes. The room was spinning and everything was blurry. His eyes widened at the sight before him. How could he have done this to them?
Chapter 1;
It was the middle of June yet it felt like mid December. The wind was cold and icy against her soft frigid face. She flinched at every cold rush of air coming towards her face cursing every time it did so. It was quiet and lonely, no one was out at this time especially not in an alley. The night was pretty much isolated, the only thing audible was her unsteady breathing and the uneven footsteps both her and her partner took. She silently cursed at her own stupidity for leaving her car back at the precinct, lowering her head to avoid her partner's cold stare.
"You had to forget your car on the coldest day of the month?" He growled.
She sighed, ignoring the question. There was no reason answering it, if she did, it would just probably end up in a fight and she hated fighting with Elliot. He kept on going on anyway.
"I could be home right now, but instead I'm stuck with you outside while freezing my ass off."
"Well, it wouldn't hurt for you to bring your car once in a while. Maybe if you did, I could be home in bed rather than having to listen to your crap all night while freezing my ass off." She snapped.
"Must be your time of the month." He silently murmured not loud enough for her to hear.
Olivia sighed and walked faster leaving him a bit behind. Her fingers were starting to numb and she was starting to worry they were going to fall off. The sky was starting to get murky, so it was starting to make it harder to see. The rest of the way home had been quiet, neither of them had spoken a word to each other and she really didn't mind if it remained like that for the rest of the way home. She wasn't in the mood to talk to him.
"I'm sorry." Elliot murmured loud enough for her to hear.
She sighed, god he could be such an asshole at times, but he was her partner and best friend and there was no way she could stay mad at him.
She smiled and sighed. "It's okay. I'm sorry too. Tough day, we both need some rest."
He grinned, "Yeah, obviously." She jokingly smacked his arm attempting to hold back her laugh.
They walked in silence, the only thing on their mind was when they were finally going to get home. Elliot looked at his watch pretending to care what time it was. Truly, he really didn't care if it was below zero outside or three a.m. in the morning, as long as Olivia was with him, he was pretty much happy. He shook his head trying to erase the thought from his mind. Elliot was about to break off the silence when he heard footsteps from behind. He swiftly turned around gun ready to aim at anyone.
Olivia, turned around her hand tightening on the hold of her gun. She looked around and loosened her grip.
"Elliot what the hell?"
Elliot looked around. He knew he had heard something from behind. He quickly turned around and faced Olivia. He noticed she had flinched and stepped back.
"Jesus Elliot, what are you trying to do, shoot me?" She snapped.
He flinched and put his gun away. He felt like a complete idiot, he put his gun away silently cursing at himself. He decided it had probably been the wind or any passing car, but he still couldn't let go of the feeling that someone was watching them. Little did he know they were.
Sorry for the short chapter, the next one will be a lot longer. Well, I'm pretty sure where this is going but I may add some changes. Please review.
