Author's Note: Just a teeny one shot I wrote last night. Or rather, this morning. So sorry if it's not the best. In other news, have you guys seen the promo for next weeks Boiling Point? I can not wait to see it!

Disclaimer: I think it's pretty safe to say I don't own Degrassi.

Elijah Goldsworthy never got scared. He laughed in the face of danger. Scary movies? Overrated. Haunted houses? Amusing. The only time he had felt anything even remotely close to fear was the first time his father hit him. Even then, it was more close to shock.

(but that was another story for another time.)

He wears all black, enjoys coloring his nails with sharpie, has a slight fascination with death and drives a hearse. God damn it, people were supposed to be scared of him! He was supposed to scare people, push them away before they even had the opportunity to get close.

Because if he let one more person get close to him he'd be forced to watch them walk away. And if one more person left him again there was no way he could pick up the broken pieces. They were barely repaired now.

(but that was another story for another time.)

As his father once told him, in his drunken state, being scared meant being weak. Any emotion equaled weakness. Which might explain the reason why his knees weakened every time he saw her, the pace his heart beated when she smiled at him and that idiotic smile that graced his face whenever she said even a single word to him. Because she was…Clare and just thinking about her brought an array of new emotions.

Damn.

He was doing it again. The sappy weak teenage boy thing. But he couldn't help it. And he wasn't so sure if he wanted to.

For the first time in years, Eli felt that sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, the way his heart skipped a beat every so often and of course those stupid, god forsaken goose bumps. And it was all her fault.

He was falling. Fast.

And it scared the hell out of him.

A/N: For some reason, I kind of like how this piece turned out. I definitely want to get to know Eli. Expect to see more Eli/Eclare one shots in the future. I might even make one out of those 'another story for another time' things into a story or something. Reviews would be aprreciated.
