Big Windup!

(I Do Not Own Big Windup!)

Practice was kind of rough with Mihashi considering what happen last night. I thought it would bring us closer together but if feels like it distanced us more. I wonder what he's thinking. He's usually easy to read but sometimes he can be so bizarre with his action

As Abe was leaving the field he noticed someone waiting for him at the exit

"TAKAYA!" the stranger yelled

"Don't tell me its…" Abe said to himself, as he got closer. It turned out to be Mortike Haruna, his pitcher from junior high.

"Of all the people!" Abe said frustrated "Mihashi, I'll call you later

"…okay" Mihashi said quietly

"TAKAYA!" Haruna yelled again

"I'M COMING DAMMIT," yelled Abe

Abe walked up to Haruna with an annoyed expression on his face.

"What the hell do you want?" said Abe

"Is that anyway to greet an old friend"

"Whatever, so what brings you all the way here?

"Practice got cancelled because the coach got sick, and I thought I stop by, besides, I wanted to talk to you for a while now" Haruna explained

"How convenient, what is it then?"

"Well, to tell you the truth, I miss you being my catcher, I mean even though we fought a lot, we had such a great connection and you could catch what I threw at you"

"Like hell I'm going to pitch for you again!" yelled Abe

"You didn't respect me one bit and you could care less about the team"

"There was a reason I had my 80 pitch limit! I don't know what I'd do if I injured myself and wasn't able to pitch. If anything, I cared more about baseball then anyone!"

"That's no excuse for being an ass all the time!"

"Hey! If I didn't beat you into shape with my fast balls, you wouldn't have been our starting catcher!"

"Either way I couldn't leave Nishiura, If I left, Mihashi would be a mess"

"Who's Mihashi?"

" Our Pitcher and Ace"

"THAT'S MIHASHI! That guy can't be a pitcher, let alone an Ace. I met him at the tournament drawing. More the reason to come back to catch with me"

"You wish you could pitch like Mihashi, he has the best accuracy then any pitcher in the Majors"

"You're kidding, that scrawny thing, he can't be all that special"

"HE IS!" argued Abe

-SILENCE-

"I see," said Haruna. Haruna grabbed Abe's shoulders and looked at him in the eyes

"But I'm serious when I say I miss you. I care for you a lot more than I did in junior high. I know realize how important you are to me."

'But why now!" exclaimed Abe

Haruna leaned in close to his face and kissed him gently. Abe was so shocked he couldn't react to it. He wanted to fight back but at the same time he felt at ease

Haruna pulled backed and whispered in his ear

"Who knows"?

Abe was standing their wide-eyed wondering what just happened

"It's getting late, Maybe I'll play against you in the tournament later on in the tournament, if I'm lucky. I want to see this so called great pitcher," Haruna said

Before he passed Abe he stopped and said quietly

"I'm the pitcher in this relationship in more ways then one"

"See ya" said Haruna as he left

Abe snapped out of it and said

"That conversation really took turn…"

Abe ran after him because he didn't want to end it on that note. After all they been through, he wanted to even out the playing field once and for all.

Haruna turned back and saw Abe grab his wrist

"Careful, that's my throw-"

Before he could finish, Abe was other one that stole a kiss. He wanted to prove that he couldn't be pushed around by him anymore. The stayed like that for a while until it got dark.

The next time they would see each other, they'll be opponents.
