How Happy She Made Me
Kurt knew the moment his life was complete.
Believe or not, it wasn't when he and Noah stopped dancing around each other and finally started dating after much insistence from their friends and even Noah's little sister who ended up adoring Kurt. It wasn't when Noah proposed after five and a half years together just after Kurt graduated from fashion college at the Plaza. It wasn't when he and Noah finally got married a year and a half later, though that came a close second.
And he knew Noah felt the same to his number one.
It was when his baby girl, Katherine Sarah Puckerman after his late mother, was born, on his 27th birthday no less. When she was given to him wrapped up in a little pink blanket so the nurses could tend to her surrogate mother, covered in blood and that gooey white womb stuff which he didn't remember the name of at the time (because hello! he had just become a father!) and screaming herself hoarse, her face bright red. Scared of how to help the fragile thing clasped so tightly to himself, he stroked her cheek. She grabbed his finger so tightly in her whole fist and just stopped almost instantly.
"I'm your daddy" he whispered, tears trickling down his cheeks and Noah brushing them away absentmindedly while he too stared at the tiny brunette haired baby in Kurt's arms. And though nurses would deny it later as just his imagination despite his insistence, Katie looked up into his eyes and smiled up brightly at him.
And Kurt knew at that moment his life was complete.
