I Never Knew

Chapter Sixteen — Where We Begin Again

"Good morning," Kaoru smiled, wrapping his arms around Tamaki from behind.

"Morning," Tamaki said, leaning slightly into the embrace. "Sit down; breakfast is almost finished. Although, I did want to surprise you."

"Hm." Kaoru kissed the nape of his neck. "It's still a surprise anyway." He sighed and closed his eyes. "Let's skip breakfast and just have sex."

Tamaki chuckled, turning off the stove and putting eggs onto plates. "Aren't Marco and Nakahara coming back soon?"

Kaoru took a step back to give Tamaki room to maneuver. "Isn't that more of a reason to fuck now and eat later?"

Tamaki laughed harder, placing bowls of rice on the dining table. "It's ready now, so let's eat. We can eat quickly."

"No," Kaoru whined. "I like to savor my meals. I don't wanna rush through eating."

Tamaki put an arm around Kaoru's waist and purred, "I like to savor you. I don't want to rush that either."

Kaoru blushed. "I'll give Nakahara a call."

Kaoru moaned Tamaki's name gratefully, threading his fingers through the blond's hair, tugging on it just a little bit. He panted and mewled, curling his toes and bucking his hips, to which Tamaki responded by holding down Kaoru's hips and releasing the cock from his mouth.

"If you're good and don't choke me," he said, "then I can use my hands for better things than holding you back, you know?"

Kaoru nodded, blushing. "Yeah. Sorry. I'll do better." Tamaki smiled, and the way his eyes sparkled made happiness well up inside of Kaoru's chest. "Hey, Tamaki?"

Tamaki sucked on one of his fingers, slicking it generously before inserting it into Kaoru. "Yeah, Kaoru?"

The redhead moaned and gripped the bedsheets. "M-Merry Christmas."

Tamaki laughed, wrapping his hand around Kaoru's erection. "Merry Christmas, Kaoru."

Kaoru kissed Tamaki's neck lazily. "You're really amazing, you know that? So good," he muttered against his elder's smooth skin.

Tamaki smiled, running his hand up and down Kaoru's naked body. "Me, really? Because I was going to say that I could barely keep up with you. You're so energetic, you know? You make me feel something I've never felt before."

Kaoru laughed lightly, a sound which made Tamaki's heart flutter. "I was thinking the same thing."

Outside the bedroom, they could hear the sounds of Haruki and Marco coming back home, but neither wanted to move yet. "Hitachiin-san! We're home!"

"Give us a minute," Kaoru shouted back, mirthfully. He looked at Tamaki and stroked his cheek. "Looks like the party is over."

"Yeah," Tamaki replied, nuzzling his love. "Look, I've been giving this some serious thought."

"Oh?" That made Kaoru nervous. "You mean us?"

"Yeah, and I've decided." He put a hand on Kaoru's cheek and looked him right in the eyes. "I love you. I love you, and I'm going to graduate in a few months, and wherever life takes me, whatever happens after that, whatever I do, I want to be by your side. I will be wherever you are."

Kaoru couldn't contain his joy. "I love you, and I need you, and that sounds just perfect to me."

"Don't go," Kaoru whispered, squeezing Tamaki tightly in the terminal.

"It'll be spring break before you know it. And I'll be right back here in your arms," Tamaki said sweetly, breathing in Kaoru's scent (and trying desperately to remember it). They separated, and Tamaki grabbed the handle of his suitcase. "Okay. Study hard. Do well in school!"

"I will!" Kaoru gave Tamaki one last kiss on the cheek. "Have a good flight. Call me the second you get home."

"I will."

Spring

Tamaki waited nervously for the graduation ceremony to start. He just wanted to get through it and leave, get to the airport and see Kaoru. It had only been a few months, but that felt like forever.

"Tamaki, calm down," Kyoya said.

"I can't." He paced back and forth. "I can't."

"You're disturbing the other students."

Tamaki stopped and looked at him with the most serious look he could muster. "I can't stand this. Do you understand how close I am to seeing Kaoru?"

Kyoya nodded over to the audience. "Do you?"

Tamaki glanced over at the crowd and had to do a double take. He saw Hikaru (who had been trying to make amends with him, and Tamaki just wasn't having it) sitting in the back row, and right next to him was someone identical, with his hair parted to the opposite side. Kaoru saw Tamaki looking at him and waved with a broad smile.

Tamaki turned back to Kyoya. "I don't know if I'm so happy that he came to see me graduate, or if I'm pissed that I still have to do this dumb ceremony when he's sitting right there."

Kyouya laughed.

Summer

The sun was bright, and warm, and it was the perfect, breezy, T-shirt kind of weather that Kaoru lived for. He loved Italy. Tamaki was talking, and he was half-listening, because (let's just face it) Tamaki looked perfect in the sun, talking animatedly, their fingers laced together and their arms swinging in time. Kaoru stopped in the middle of the path.

Tamaki turned to see what was the matter. "What is it? You'll hold people up."

"I want a kiss." Tamaki smiled, put his hand on Kaoru's cheek, and obliged him.
