This is it guys, this is the final chapter of this story. I know, I can't believe it either. It has been a long road since I started this thing, and at long last, everything will end.

-Outbreak Girl

President' s Room

The eight survivors stepped out of the secret door as fast as they could, the are running on a time limit and a monster is on their tail. The beeping sound of the explosive devices can still be heard, in fact, they can be heard clearly like they are in the room. In fact, they are in the room still counting down. Two are on the walls, and on the floor near the body of the Dean that is still there right beside his desk. They didn't have time to gawk, since they have to leave right this second.

Entrance Hall

"The shit? They are everywhere!" Jim pointed out as they came back to the Foyer, and the devices are even here. It might have the potential of destroying most of the building, and anyone inside caught in the have plenty of time to escape, but they cannot leave through the front door, as it is electronically locked. There is an alternative though, they will have to take the back. Right now, they are descending the stair case.

That when then survivors heard a loud crash, it is close as soon as they are on the first floor. A door flew open, blown back by a powerful force, and the source came walking through the frame where the door used to be. The Thanatos stands tall, as it look it's sights at the group, and walk towards them.

"Holy Shit! That sucker is big!" Jim loudly pointed out, scared at this sudden appearance of this monster. The ones with weapons instantly points their weapons at the approaching beast.

"We don't have time for this...i don't think our guns can take him down." Mark hissed, he has seen the thing in action, as he doesn't think that with their combined firepower would take it out. Alyssa slides through, as she points her Grenade Launcher at the monster.

"That's why I'm using this, stand back." She said, pulling the trigger as the shot fires straight at the monster's chest. To her' s and everyone's surprised, the monster falls to its knee as the acid tears away at its skin and its large heart that is held in place by attached metal. It roars loudly, possible from pain and anger, but it gives them ample time to run.

"Quick! We gotta move!" Kevin exclaimed, and he instantly makes a run for the door that will lead them to the exit, the others followed suit, but they didn't expect for Thanatos to recover already. It stumbles back on its feet, and it makes a mighty charge at the cluster.

Its thundering charge is noticed, as it attempts to tackle vicious the survivors in front of it. Luckily, Alyssa turns as she fires another round and the creature once again roars as it lands on its face. It falls on the ground instantly, holding its burning face as it flails it's free arm wildly. Again, she fires another round at the creature, and it hit its slashing arm and it too began to burn. The launcher clicks as she couldn't fire anymore rounds, it's empty.

"Guess I can't use this anymore. Damn..." She cursed, as she has no choice but to drop it since it cannot be used anymore. It was usefully since it is effective against Thanatos, but now they have enough time to get out of the foyer.

Back Square

"Outside, we made it..." Cindy took a look back at the building, still hearing the faded roars of pain, the others could hear it as well, but it was soon replaced by a booming blast. The explosives have finally went off, and cause the university building to collapse. The group scatters to run from the rubble that flies from the putter walls, but luckily they hid behind the cars and vans for cover.

It was over pretty quickly, and they came out from their hiding places. The building is in shambles, as from where they are standing is in rubble and fire. The whole university isn't gone though, as most of it still stands.

"Is everyone alright?" Kevin asked, as he could see that everyone is accounted for. They do not seem to be hurt, and now he looks over the damage. "Okay...im sure that nothing can survive that..." There is silence, not a sound from the monster or anything so far, but it broke when the familiar whirling of a helicopter is heard overhead. From where they are standing, they could see it clearly from where they are standing. It flies over the university and that is their ride out of the city.

"It must be it," Yoko pointed out, "We have to get to the Front Square. This way!" There is a gate that they could escape from, and take them to the back.

Unloading Passage

The group has entered into a graveyard for trucks, it looks to be this way. They thought that it would be empty, but there are two figures trying to climb over the bare back of a truck that blocks the road. Zombies cannot climb, so they know that they are human, and the two noticed the group. "Hey! Get over here quick!" One of them said. Upon closer inspection, they are both African-American men wearing coats that belong to firemen, and one of them are carrying an axe. Both of them looks seemingly unharmed, and let the survivors comes close.

"Thank God survivors...It has been a few days since we have seen a living soul." The axeman looks at them closely, "You guys look familiar...Yeah, at Apple's Inn at the beginning. You guys remember me? I'm Dan." He told them, as he was the fireman that they met at day one of the outbreak.

"I...kind of remember...I gave you the tags." Yoko told him, and Dan nods.

"Yeah...things have gone to hell since then." He sighs, "Gill and I are probably the only one in our department left alive, we saw the helicopter up above and followed it here, and there was an explosion!" He points to where the University is, as smoke rises from the building.

"Forget about that, all that matters is that we get to the helicopter, it's our ticket to leave this pit." David reminded them why they are are here. They agree as all they have to do is climb over this large obstacle and take advantage of this emptiness to reach the copter safely. No monsters are here to stops them, so they are safe as things are right now.

"I can't believe all of this.." Jim grunts as he climbs, "I cannot believe that we are still alive, and now we escape this nightmare. Its a freaking miracle." He takes the Lucky Coin from his pocket and kissed it. Kevin is right behind him, patting his shoulder.

"Its not over yet, we still have to reach it first." He said, as he looks at what's in front of him. There is a wall with a door, and if they reach the door, they will be one step closer to freedom. Jim shrugs.

"Yeah, but we are so close, I could taste it." He jumps from the trailer, waiting as he flips his coin.

Kevin took his time helping the women up, but Alyssa found her own way without his help. He just chuckles a bit as he shook his head, and he stays on the trailer until he is sure that everyone climbs up safely. The group of now ten survivors have landed on the ground on the other side, determined more than ever to reach the square, making quick progress to reach for the helicopter.

Yolo starts to lag behind though, as she ponders what her thoughts about what Mueller said and the underground lab. She almost halts in her steps, having this unsure look on her face. George took notice as he is right next to her.

"What's the matter?" He asked her, he doesn't get an answer right now, but she does so.

"I've been thinking about what my past have been like...with Umbrella." She looks at her hand, "I lost some of my memories two years ago, I don't know if I was like them, it could be my fault..." her voice is almost soft, eyes lowered on the ground. George stared at her, then he looks at the group.

"You have plenty of time to gather your thoughts, but right now forget about the past and just move forward. We still have to survive." He gave her encouragement to move, and that is enough for her to snap from her pessimistic trance.

"Okay..."

By the time they caught up, Mark used his strength to bust open the door from the hinges, and it is the canal on the other side. A path lead to staircases upward, and they could see that the copter has recently landed on the Front Square. All they have to do is run to caught it as they do not have the leisure of walking, dawn is upon the city soon.

Front Square

In the center, a Chinook helicopter is sitting there, surrounded by five men clad in what appears to be black battle suits, also carrying assault rifles. They have just exit their aircraft, when ten people approached.

"Stay where you are!" One of them shouted, and the rest of the squad aimed their weapons as a warning, luckily, they stepped right in their tracks.

"Whoa! Hey!" Kevin held his hands up, not moving a step unless he wants to be stopped. "Hold on, we are survivors, we just want to escape this hell hole." He told him, but the men are still hostile.

"That's not our problem, we aren't here for ragtag survivors." The soldier in front informed them, his finger on the trigger ready to shoot. "I suggest that you and your friends clear the area. You are in the way of our operation."

It is clear that they are not in the mood of taking the group to safety, Yolo remembered that Mueller said that they are here for him, but they do not know of his ultimate fate. She has to think of something, but then, they are here for Mueller and Daylight. She secretly hit behind her friends as she digs into her knapsack and found the vial tube of one of them. Just in time, as they let out another warning.

"If you do not leave, then you are all dead, on the count of three..." before he even began, Yoko walks up in the front.

"Wait!" She lifted her hand, revealing Daylight. "You are looking for this, aren't you?" This is enough for the solider to stop his count down.

"...Where is Dr. Greg Mueller?" He asked her, and this made bit the bottom of her lip.

"He's dead, but if you want this, you have to let us on board. Otherwise, I'll drop it." She warned them. She knows that they do not have time to look for an extra dose, and the University is destroyed at this point.

Before an answer can be given, an object from the sky, and lands right on the leader the group, Effectively crushing him to death. The dust settled, and a hulking figure could be seen. It stands up, and the beast shows itself; Thanatos.

It looks different now, like it has gone through a mutation. Its upper body is bulked up, so has its heart as it still beats despite having a metal shrapnel stuck in the middle of it. Its skin is torn most likely by fire and the acid it has suffered, half of its face is gone, and its right arm is severed. Its left arm is still intact, but now it has grown larger.

By the look of its deformed face, it is angry, and it shows by swiping its large arm at the closest group, which happens to be the soldiers. Two of their men close to Thanatos has been violently clawed, while the two remaining opened fired, but it has little to know effect. Easily, the behemoth used its claw to pierce their bodies. The survivors watched it all, shocked that the monster has survived the explosion and collapse, and is still meaner than ever before.

"What the hell is that?" Gill is surprised that this 7-8 foot monstrosity jumped in out of no where, and so is Dan.

"An asshole that is in front of our ride." Alyssa clarified, as it is true, they can't leave unless they kill Thanatos right here and now. It didn't take look for the creature to notice them, and it didn't even wait as it bends its knees and jumps at a mighty height.

They could see that it intends to land right on top of them, and the group was smart enough to scatter before it happened. It came back down with a crash on the pavement, ready to kill. Dan and Gill make their way to the Chinnok, thankfully it doesn't look damaged, and they work their way inside. It does have a pilot but that's okay, and Gill takes the seat. In the meanwhile, the eight survivors are facing the Thanatos, it's death means their survival.

The courtyard is wide enough to move around, a lot of space to cover even if there is a aircraft on the ground. This might give them the advantage to move when the monster threatens to strike. George, Alyssa, and Yoko are together, and they look pretty frantic as Thanatos is after its human Targets.

They are closest to the helicopter, and Alyssa has an idea. She is unarmed, and the copter might have something that could help.

"Weapons might be in the helicopter." She told them. They both understands, and the three quickly runs and got into the Chinook. The reporter instantly try to look for a weapon, anything that could be powerful enough to kill the behemoth.

"Damn...Damn! There's got to be something!" She is searching inside of the Chinook for anything that would defeat the monster. She isn't the only on, as Dan found a brief case and opens it up.

"Check this out, do you know what this is?" He asked them, to see if they would know. Inside the case is a slick looking handgun that doesn't look that it would carry bullets. George takes a closer look, and realize what it is.

"A Ampoule Shooter." He informed, "This is used for capsules and medical ampoules, for injections mostly."

"Wait..." Yoko pipes up as this gotten her thinking She is still holding Daylight in her hand, and has a idea. "It is a creature made from the virus, we could kill it by using this." It makes since to her, as they have no other options, and time is running out. Everyone seems to be on board with this plan.

"Good, we can't mess this up, we have one shot at this." Alyssa said, as far as she knows, this is the only vial of Daylight they have. "Someone has to take the shot, possibly get in close while that thing is distracted..." That is a tough on, how will they do that. Thankfully, Dan has the answer.

"We could use this baby." He points up above the seats where he found the briefcase. Hanging on the wall, is a Rocket Launcher. They looked stunned, it just might work.

Outside of the Chinook, the battle rages on as the Thanatos is running, chasing the scattering survivors as they try to keep a distance from its strikes. Kevin and Jim is on its right side, backing up from its range as the cop is taking aim and firing concentrated marks at the beast' s now enlarged heart. It only annoyed it, and t focused its attention on them, ignoring Mark, David, and Cindy that is on its far left.

"Come on! Over here you big bitch!" He is taunting it now, trying to get it to focus more on him, still trying to shoot at its heart. Jim is too busy hiding behind the come, as he looks frightened by the monster's New form.

"Its coming at us man!" Jim frantically pointed out, as he is cowering behind the cop as he is trying to fight back.

The three behind Thanatos has an idea as they focus on the lower part of the beast, mainly it's leg. They give it a shot, as Mark and David aim their rifles and fires at its left leg. It worked by a miracle, and the tyrant falls on its injured limb.

"Its working! But we gotta work something out!" Mark exclaims, as he has to reload a clip to the rifle. He turns his head as he saw the Chinook, and Alyssa dragging out something from the aircraft; a Rocket Launcher. "What the hell? That was in there the whole time?" He books it to the woman with the dangerous weapon. She grins as she nod.

"Yeah, and this baby would help us take it down." Alyssa then hands the launcher to Mark. "You think you can do it? We only have one shot, and if this doesn't kill it, then we have something else that will." George is holding the Ampoule Shooter, as it is fully loaded he would not be needing it just yet. Yoko hangs back inside of the aircraft still.

The older man accepts, taking the launcher and he prepares it for combat. It was at this point that the tyrant slowly stands on it's feat again, despite the constant assault it suffering. David used his rifle to aim at the other leg to make it stumble again, but it didn't have much impact without a second person for support.

It now focused on him, not flinching as It growls, and manage to Sprint at the plumber and the waitress beside him. However, because of its injuries, it was enough time for the humans to move from its path. The both of them quickly joins Kevin and Jim, as they are starting to run out of bullets.

"We aren't' killing it fast enough, we are running out of time." David grunts, as he takes the time to reload. They know it, but they saw Mark going to the Chinook and what they saw astound them, as he is has a Launcher in his hand. If the tyrant discover this, it will kill him.

"We have to distract it, we got give him the opening he needs." David suggested, if they want to kill it, then they need that one rocket from the RPG to hit it. They nod, as Thanatos is on its feet again. They moved further away from the aircraft, to get it to pay attention to them, and once again firing at the hulking beast.

It did, and it used its sheer strength to walk at a slow pace. Some bullets bounced off its skin, but others actually pierced it. Still, it's murderous intent is stronger, as it approaches them. Kevin grunts as his handgun clicks, he is dry and he is no good.

"I'm out," he confirmed, taking a step back. Thankfully, Cindy offers her gun.

"Take this, quickly." She gave it to him, as it is for the best since he is the better shot. He accept and, and then continues the assault. David is using his clip sparingly, doing as much as he could before the rocket could get ready, not taking an eye of the beast that ems to be almost on top of them. It was then that they heard a shouting voice.

"Move! Here it comes!"

It was Mark, aiming the RPG, and pulled the trigger once he has the target in his sights. He had to risk giving them the warning, as this weapon is a destructive force and didn't want them to get caught in the blast. Thankfully, they heed it as they went in different directions away from Thanatos. It is the target, and when it turned around, it roared as it was he by the explosive on its back. It fell on its stomach, writhing, smoking, and burning. The four regroups at the outside of the Chinnok, watching the smouldering large body still moving despite taking a massively.

"Still alive..." Mark grunted, dropping the remains of the launcher. "That's okay, we have something that will take it out." He knows that it is still a danger, but it is weak now. Alyssa, Jim, and Yoko exits the copter, and presents the Ampoule Shooter.

"Look at this, this is what will kill it." The gun has the vial of Daylight inside of the slot. It is ready, someone has to take it and finish the tyrant. It moves, struggling to stand on its feet hissing angrily as it limps on its knees.

"I'll do it." George volunteers for it as they looked at him. They wanted to know if they are sure, and he looks serious. They need to do this right now, so Alyssa hands him the gun. He is careful at he now slowing figure, a big target to be sure, which is why it would be easy for him. Thanatos is on its feet, as it shambles towards the human, still intending to kill them, even in its weakened state. The determined doctor didn't hesitate as he fires the Daylight, able to hit its stomach and the syringe is deep into its flesh.

Its skin cracks, showing that the serum is indeed working its way in the creature' s body. It makes on final roar as it falls backwards, twitching as its death soon follows. It is a breath of relief the survivors, but it's not over yet. They still need to get out, before they die by the incoming missiles heading towards the city.

Immediately, they quickly make their way inside of the helicopter, as the two firemen saw the action from the window.

"Its dead?" Gill asked them, then turns away as he works to operate the control.

"Yeah, and now we need to get the hell out of here!" Alyssa confirms, and the aircraft is still functional for lift off. The rotars spin, and the copter begins to levitate off the ground, and soon enough hover higher in the sky.

In the Sky

The copter took off into the air and headed west, and the sun rises from the horizon behind the Arkley Mountains. It was then that there were explosions coming from the city, they couldn't see the missiles, but they did see Raccoon City being engulfed in fire and smoke. The city has been erased completely, the only thing remains is the smoke cloud that is rising up from the destruction.

It is a sad sight to see it go, but they made it, and are glad to be alive agreeing suffering several days of survival. They are alive, and are very grateful for it. It is a great relief as they finally relax, as they are safe. Kevin grunts as he stretch his limbs, aching but he knows that they will heal.

"Shit...I can't believe that we made it." He held his head, leaning back as he is happy indeed, although his breath is shaky. He took the time to stretch, and look at the somewhat peaceful sunrise from his window. He yawns, tired and he deserve to sleep. "Tired...I'm going to take a nap..." He mumbles, mostly to himself. Alyssa is going on his left, yawning herself trying to make herself comfortable.

"Thanks for reminding me...when I wake up, I'll make Umbrella pay." She promised softly, closing her eyes. Kevin gives as glance at the window once again, a slight smile on his face as he closed his eyes.

Cindy is viewing the window herself, manages to calm herself down. This is a experience that would never forget, but she is glad that she survived so that maybe she could take something positive from this. "Something positive..." She said softly to herself. Mark is right beside her, looking at the picture of his family he have in his wallet. It made her smile, placing a hand on his shoulder.

The old security guard appreciates the support, and if it weren't for these people he said with since day one, he probably wouldn't be alive. Lowering his head, his eyes turns to Jim as he is calm for once, flipping his luckily coin in the air.

"I knew it, I knew our luck would hold out in the end." He stated, even though there were plenty of times when he thought that they were going to die. His goofy look is cheerful, keep flipping the coin, too happy to even consider sleep.

George is sitting parallel from the five, wiping the light sweat from his forehead as he has a lot to think about. What would the future hold, and what if this happened again? They had the cure, but they used it to kill the monster. "The cure...Daylight..." He is speaking his thoughts. "It would've been better if we had one...It could save millions of lives just in case."

Yoko held her knapsack in her lap, opening it to see if the things inside. She does have something that neither of them counted on-an extra vial of Daylight, the one just snagged from Mueller' s lab. "Don't worry, we have hope right here." She said as he held it in her hand. "We just have to give it to the people..."

The doctor nods, as there is indeed hope after all, and he could relax completely. David is on Yoko' s left, he sees her as she seems hopeful for once, and he is starting to feel hopeful himself. Throughout this entire disaster, it taught him to appreciate the value of Reliance, as it is what saved his life and the lives of the others. He decides to stay awake, crossing his arms as the dawn turns the sky blue.

"Gill, where are we headed?" Dan asked the piolit, they are safe, but they still need to land somewhere. He gives a thumbs up as he seem to have an idea.

"The next town, far away from here." He points to the far horizon, keeping himself focused as he piolits the copter over the forest landscape. Dan nods in approval, then looks back to the eight survivors, they are at peace, and that is what they deserved after the hell they have been put through.

By now, the sun is easily seen in the Orange covered skies, the clouds doing little to block its rays. It almost seems as the helicopters and its passengers are heading towards the new day.
