Life or Death

Garcia's lips pressed into a thin line. Beads of sweat begin to form on her brow. Her breathing was becoming quite frantic. No one else in the store seemed to be hyperventilating like her. No one else understood the dire consequences this day brought. They didn't see mutilated bodies of corpses every day.

She never thought she'd be stuck in a situation like this. She spent her whole life avoiding these predicaments. It was do or die. And Penelope Garcia certainly didn't want to die. But she didn't have much of a choice. She didn't come in this store to get caught up like this. It was suppose to be an in-out shopping trip. Pick up some shoes for the club next Friday with the gang. Go in, get the shoes she needed, get out. But now, she's been in here for about 20 minutes and she was no closer to leaving than she was when she first walked in. She had to call for help if she wanted out alive.

Maybe she could call Morgan. He was her Knight in Shinning Armor, wasn't he? He got stuck in quick-call situations all the time. Morgan would defiantly be able to get her out safely. He was Superman but with a better body. But no, he wouldn't understand.

Prentiss? No, she lived too far away. Garcia would probably already be dead by the time she got there. So that was another no.

JJ. That was it. JJ would understand and rush over to help her. She lived about 5 minutes away from this store. She'd be here in no time. And Will had Henry for the weekend for quality bonding time. JJ would be perfect.

With her cell phone in hand, her newly manicured nails pushed speed dial numero dos.

After a few rings the occupant on the other line picked up. "Jareau"

"JJ, OMG! I THINK I'M ABOUT TO DIE HERE. YOU NEED TO COME QUICK! PLEASE HELP ME." Her breathing became labored while her hands started to shake.

"Garcia? Are you okay? What happened? Where are you?" Garcia could hear the panic that almost mirrored her own.

Then in a split second she sobered up and whispered a reply. "I need help picking between two pairs of shoes."
