New Neighbours, New Friend

Harry let out a long suffering groan as he slammed his front door shut and made the very short distance to the flat next door to his. When he had first moved into the complex he had been looking forward to get away from being between a rock and a hard place thanks to his friends and fans. He had hoped for a quiet, relaxing and peaceful time living in the muggle world, hidden away, only to find his plan falling to pieces as just a week later the empty flat next door became empty no longer.

'I understand having a bit of noise when you are moving in and unpacking but for it to go on for this long it is ridicules'!' Harry thought angrily as he raised his hand to knock on the front door only to be beaten to it as the door suddenly opened. A second later a young looking woman, not much older than him, was standing in the door way looking at him.

"Err...Hi?" Harry said, feeling quiet lame, as he offered who he thought must be his new next door neighbour a nervous smile. "It is nice to meet you, my name is Harry Potter. I work as a special police officer so I thought that I better warn you if you see me coming and going at odd hours of the night and day."

"The names Rika Nonaka, my friends and I have just moved into here. Thank you for letting me know, I will make sure to be a good next door neighbour and help to keep an eye on your flat," Rika said with a stiff form of politeness only for a loud crashing sound to come from deeper in the flat. "I am sorry about all of the noise but my idiotic friends have decided that it is a great idea to move in with me."

"Ah, that explains all of the noise then," Harry replied with a relieved smile, glad that the loud bangs and other sounds would not be a consent thing. "If you want to you could always come over to my flat to escape them, trust me I know what it is like to have friends similar to yours."

Rika took a few seconds to silently look Harry over before nodding her head. "Thank you, if it is alright with you I think that I will take you up on that offer right now."

"That bad huh?" Harry asked with an understanding laugh as he stepped aside to allow Rika to exit her flat. "If you want I have English tea, some American coffee a friend brought back from her travels and several cold drinks."

"Hmmm, good idea. Letting me hide at your flat from those idiots while pretending to be a good next door neighbour and introducing myself to you," Rika said with an approving glint in her eyes as her mouth twitched upper wards into a small smile. "I think that this could be the start of a beautiful friend ship, but be warned, nothing normal ever happens around me."

"I know the feeling, I am the very same way," Harry said with another small laugh as he gave his new possible friend a kind smile. "The adventures I have been on would make you think that I had a death wish."

"The same goes for me, we should swap stories some time," Rika replied before turning her head and shouting into the flat. "If you want me I will be next door getting to know our new neighbour."

As the sound of various 'yes' and 'alright' came back in reply Rika turned back around and walked out of the flat. Without a single word she closed the flat's front door behind her before turning back to Harry and giving him a pointed look.

"Well?" Rika said making Harry suddenly feel like a deer caught in the headlights. "Lead on then, the sooner I get away from that pair the better for me and my headache."

"Right, you just took me by surprise is all," Harry answered as he quickly motioned towards his own flat. From his time during the war and at Hogwarts it was easy for Harry to tell that Rika really did like her two friends but there were times that she just did not know how to show it. "So, what made you agree to having a drink in my flat? I am practically a strange man."

Much to Harry's surprise Rika shot him a knowing yet smug look. "The noise, it feels like it would never end."
