"I don't think I want to do this anymore."

"You don't have to stay. Really, you've been great but I can handle this-"

"No," Puck said, his jaw set firmly. His eyes were swimming with emotion, and Quinn couldn't tell if he was about to cry or break something. "No, I mean. I don't think I can go through with giving her up."

Quinn's mouth fell open and she sputtered her words. "What? What do you mean?"

Puck sat there in the vinyl chair, his fingers digging into the tops of his thighs so hard from tension his knuckles were starting to turn white. A light bead of sweat broke above his brow and he felt like he might throw up. But everything vibrated in him that giving his child was wrong, regardless of everything and everyone telling him the opposite.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I know I agreed, but I just can't. After seeing her face and holding her little hand.. I can't do it," he sighed, rubbing both hands over his face. "I'm keeping her."
