Disclaimer: Sadly, I don't own Alice in Wonderland.

Pure fluff. Oneshot. What should've happened after Alice slayed the Jabberwocky.

"You could stay," whispered the Hatter in a surprisingly serious tone. A small grin lit his pale face and his eyes lit up even more green than usual.

"I wish I could. But there are questions I have to answer and things I must do," sighed Alice, looking regretfully at the small vial in her petite hand.

" Oh but dear little Alice, there is one question you must answer here and now," grinned the Hatter, with a mad look in his eyes. Alice raised an eyebrow.

Hatter brushed a lock of wild blond hair out of her face before bending down on one knee. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

" Alice, I've been considering things that begin with the letter 'M', and not just any 'M' words like muffin, mead, mark, mold, marigold, marshmallow, mix, modern-"

" Hatter," said Alice, giggling. Hatter's mind came back to Underland.

"Well, the word I've considered is marriage. And I've never given that particular 'M' word much thought until I saw you as an adult, and of course when I saw you had your muchness back," smiled the hatter, with the smile Alice had come to adore.

Alice stood there. Could he be asking her what she thought? She should hope so. But it's best to not get one's hopes up. Mirana, Mally and the Tweedle brother's stared at the Hatter as apprehensively as Alice.

"Well my dear, there are two other 'M' words YOU should consider. 'Marry' and 'me'. Marry me?" proposed the Hatter, taking Alice's hands.

Alice smiled brightly and nodded.

"Yes!" exclaimed Alice. She was most certainly glad this wasn't a dream now.

Hatter got off the musty ground and pulled Alice in for a passionate kiss. He dipped her and gently caressed her lips with his own. She kissed back full force, running her hands through his tangle of brilliantly orange hair. He held on softly to her hips, the two forgot the people around them who were cheering.

Well except Mally, who was stabbing Alice's foot with her pin. But Alice didn't notice, nor care. Hatter's love served as an aesthetic. They were in love- madly in love.
