He had always been right there in front of her. How could she have been so blind?

She knew why she had never considered him boyfriend material: He had always been just a friend. They had known each of for so long, since their single-digit years.

He had always been the one who wiped away her tears from yet another bad breakup. He had always been the one who cheered her up when she was down -who schemed with her when she wanted revenge. Lorcan had always been right there, at her side. Her best-friend, her confident, but never her boyfriend.

So why hadn't she seen it sooner, seen that they were meant to be? Dominque knew the answer to that and it was because he was not her type. She didn't want a prankster who spent more time in detention than out. She didn't want a player like he was. Dominique wanted someone soft and emotional, someone who liked school -the complete opposite of Lorcan.

Lysander -that was who she wanted, or who she had thought that she wanted. They had already tried to date but it just didn't work out. He was too broken from past relationships and Dominique needed someone who was whole.

That's where Lorcan fit. He was whole -he had never let his heart be broken. He did not wear his heart on his sleeve like his twin brother did. Maybe she could make it work with the wild brother… Now that she thought about it, they were sort of like two opposite pieces of the same heart. She was shy and he was outgoing. He was reckless and she was reserved. He was like a jaguar and she, she was like a butterfly. They could balance each other out -each bringing out the better side of the other. Maybe, just maybe, they could make it work.
