Disclaimer: I don't own anything.
Chad walks through the halls of Condor studios, reminiscing about the time he guest starred on So Random. He had almost lost his reputation he worked so hard for with a simple slip up. And for nothing, Sonny didn't even fall in love with him. A first, for any of his leading ladies.
He is so deep in thought that he almost doesn't notice his favorite Random sitting, looking very upset, on a bench.
"Sonny, are you okay?" he asks as he sits down beside her.
"Huh? Yeah, yeah. I'm fine," she responds distractedly, before weakly adding, "What is this, Chad Dylan Cooper caring or something?
"Sonny, you're a terrible actress," he smirks, "You're not okay, I can tell. And I don't care, it's just... I can't have you being sad. It would be no fun having the number one show if there wasn't a little competition, and let's face it, So Random wouldn't have a chance without you," he nudges her lightly, "Now, tell Dr. Chad what's the matter."
She manages a smile, "I'm just a little bummed. My friends from Wisconsin are all graduating, and I can't be there. And I went on a date with Blake Raddison, and it turns out he's a huge jerk."
"Don't worry, graduating is overrated anyway," he says before taking in the last thing she said, "Wait, you went on a date with who?"
She feels sick, and her vision is a little cloudy, but for a second she swears there's a chance he's jealous. But then she blinks, and he's still TV's Chad Dylan Cooper. (And she's still Wisconsin's Sonny Monroe)
"Blake Raddison."
"The vampire? Wow, Sonny, I thought you had better taste than that," his efforts to keep his voice at its regular pitch cause his face to turn a bright shade of red.
She sighs, "I guess I've learned my lesson. Never date famous vampires."
"Good thing I scrapped my Fangs and Bangs idea," he says without thinking.
"Yeah," she responds before realizing what he just said, "Wait, what?"
He flushes, "What?"
She giggles, her troubles completely forgotten, "Looks like somebody likes a little someone from Chuckle City."
He loosens the collar of his dress shirt and stands up, flustered, "Oh, look at that, they're calling me to set. Gotta go."
She grabs his arm as he turns to walk away. Surprising both herself and him, she pulls him close and pecks his lips quickly. Just as he places his hand on her back, she pulls away.
"I knew it was a matter of time before you succumbed to my charm," he grins, trying to stay suave.
"Oh, shut up, Chad," she smirks.
"So what do you say? Are you free tonight? I'll pick you up at seven. Don't worry, I'll leave the fangs at home."
She can hardly believe how much has changed in such a short period of time, "Sounds great."
He fixes his shirt and gives her a smile before turning to walk back to his set.
Well, that was one slip-up he wouldn't take back for the world.
AN: Short and sweet, hopefully. Please make my day and review!
