A/N: I wrote this in celebration of the end of finals. Have a great summer! (First chapter of three.)
As McCoy turned on the shower, he was happy.
Things had gone well for a change. Only a hand full of people had come in to sickbay, and most of them had just been there for refills.
Shampooing his hair until it was thick and white, his strong fingers massaged his scalp.
He had managed to get in three whole, square meals. This had been practically unheard of to the doctor since he'd met Jim.
Out of the shower now, he toweled his hair dry. He pulled on some sweats.
Their away mission had gone as planned, with a treaty signed and at the end of the day no one dead.
Squeezing some lotion onto his palm, he took a deep breath. Lavender always helped him relax.
With no arguments or fights to break up, today had been wonderfully peaceful.
Sliding into bed, he hoped he would have more days like this.
