Chapter 4 : The beginning

Author's Note: Hi! It's me again. I'm so excited to work back on this fanfic, it's been like more than 3 years since I updated this(actually I thought it's just almost 2 years but then I checked the last update date and had the shock of the day when I discovered its more than 3 years!) and I have reread the first 3 chapters to be re acquainted with the story and the characters again or maybe I'm just getting old and forgetful (sighs) anyways enough about me and my ramblings I hope that you guys will enjoy this and this chapter is especially dedicated to all of you. Missed writing here Ciao!

Something is not right here, she was just walking on her way to the gates of Shinra Private High yet she can feel all eyes were on her, of that she's sure. Conversations suddenly stopped when she passed by, some were just passing looks while others blatantly stare at her.

It's like those tv commercials wherein a gorgeous stranger walks in and coyly enjoys the adoration that she receives from everyone however this is not a commercial and Anna definitely didn't enjoy being gawked at like some exotic animal at the zoo.

"What the hell!' thought Anna as she give everyone a deadly glare.

If looks can kill...

"And this might be the chance that we need for Yoh to finally notice you!" shrieked Pirika, twirling in front of Tamao with such drama.

When it comes to dramatic flair, believe me Pirika knows all the move inside out.

Upon hearing Yoh's name Tamao shifted uncomfortably in her seat, a gesture that didn't escape Pirika's watchful gaze.

"Why do you look like that? You still have a crush on Yoh right?"

Tamao blushed then nodded at her.

"Then as I was saying this the push that we need to finally make Yoh notice you. It's your time to shine! Can you imagine what might happen next after this?" Pirika held her hand, "How can I be blind all this time?" she said trying to imitate Yoh's voice and dreamily weaving a romantic fantasy about how Yoh would sweep her friend 's feet from the ground.

'Yeah how can I be blind?' Tamao sighed

"Are you okay? Did I said something...?" Pirika looked worriedly at her.

As she looked at Pirika, she realized she came across another crossroads. Can she tell Pirika about her brother's real identity?

"I - I think we should stop about this fantasizing that Yoh would like me"

"Huh?" Pirika looked dumbfounded, "what are you saying? Why?"

"Nothing. I just thought that maybe its time to stop this. He wont gonna like me anyways"

Pirika looked at her as she's crazy,"By chance did you got hit in the head yesterday or last night or this morning before school?"

"No Pirika its nothing like that there are just somethings that you don't know" Tamao replied nervously.

"I thought were best friends!" she scoffed giving the pink haired girl a sad face and puppy dog eyes, "but now you're hiding things from me!"

"No it's not that Pirika-" Tamao panicked

"Then what is it?"

"Your brother Horo-horo is gay and he likes Yoh and I don't know maybe Yoh likes him back" there she finally blurted the truth out.

Pirika's jaw fell, did she just hear what she thought she heard?

"I know its hard to believe but I've seen it."

"So you mean my brother and Yoh?" her eyes as big as saucers.

Tamao nodded then to her surprise Pirika gave a hearty laugh, Tamao's jaw fell.

"My brother...? hahahahhahaand Yoh...?" tears spring her eyes from laughing but she still can't help it, "That is so crazy!"

"I'm serious!"

"So am I", she brushed the pink haired girl's statement aside, "Believe me Tamao I'll know",

"What is not true?" asked Hao

Both girls looked at his direction, Hao gave them a cocky smile tossed his bag carelessly in his chair then leaned in,"What is not true?"

"Tamao's imagination here ran a little wild she said—" Pirika didnt get to continue her statement when she spotted her brother and Yoh entering the classroom.

It should have been a normal occurrence but what made Pirika stopped is the manner how they entered the said classroom.

Yoh's arm was snaked around Horo-horo's waist and her brother was clutching his hand affectionately. He was looking starry eyed at Yoh and was whispering something that made Yoh laugh.

Oh. My. Gosh

Surprised? Flabbergasted? That's an understatement to describe Pirika's reaction, she glanced at Tamao who gave her a look that says 'See I told you'

Hao was walking outside their classroom with two girls on either of his arm, one of the girls a cute brunette was giggling and poking at Hao's ribs. The other, a pretty blonde was clutching her backpack to her chest as if she needed to hold on to something. Hao threw his arm around her shoulders and pulled her against him.

Yoh looked at his twin brother at the corner of his eye, if other people poured their time on books just to learn how to make girls foam at the mouth and fall at their feet heck Hao doesn't need those in fact he could have written those books himself.

"Sorry girls I hate to cut our time short but I really need to do something important" he heard his brother say.

The two girls pouted and tried to give him puppy dog eyes, "More important than us?" the blonde girl asked.

Hao touched their chins, "Of course nothing can be more important than you two" he cooed, "It's just something urgent"

"Okay" the brunette smiled sweetly then she and her blonde companion walked away from the twins.

"Where are you going?" asked Yoh

"I have a date with Anna"

"Anna?" repeated Yoh frowning slightly trying to put a face on the name.

Hao turned to look at him,"Yes, Anna the Miss Shinra candidate"

Yoh looked at him quizzically, "Are you serious? I mean Hao she wasn't like the other girls that you dated. She might not even be your type."

He raised an eyebrow at your twin, "Well maybe I don't have a certain type. I heard its good to have a variety or maybe I was dating the wrong girls"

Yoh snorted.

"Hey don't tell me your jealous? Do you like her?" Hao teased him.

Yoh looked down suddenly fascinated with his shoes, "I don't know – no, I mean of course no", he tried to keep his voice cool despite the fact that he could feel his cheeks burning for some reason he was so fascinated with that girl, "I- I was just concerned because as I say she's different from your usual girls."

Hao looked at him in a way that makes you feel that he can see right thru you then after a pregnant pause he spoke, "You worry too much" then turned on his heel, "See you later little brother!"

Anna was walking silently out of the school building, their class has ended and she wants nothing more than to be able to go home and call it a day.

After the incident in the corridors early this morning no one dared to give her a second look or look at her for more than 5 seconds. Well she wasn't called the Ice Queen for nothing.

"Good thing I'm fast, if I'm a little late I could have lost you" she heard a familiar voice, when she turned around she saw Hao trying to catch up with her.

Just what she needed to top her day, Anna drew a long breath. Can anyone really be that unlucky?

She arched her eyebrow at him. He seems to be defying a law science or something, he just ran to catch up with her but he still looked fresh.

"Did you forgot our date?" He gave her a confident smile.

"I didn't know we have one" she replied coolly.

"We spoke about it on the phone yesterday"

"You must be hallucinating, better have a shrink look at you Hao because I didn't agree with anything, I don't have any plans of being your flavor of the month"

"Feisty I like that, you really are a breathe of fresh air"

"I really am compared to your bimbos Hao" she replied turned around and continued to walk.

"So where do you want us to go on our first date?" Hao asked not discouraged by her answer.

Anna stopped, glared at him then icily said, "Don't you ever know when you're not wanted."

"Has anyone ever told you you're cute when you're angry?" he asked.

"Has anybody ever told you you're a jerk, too confident and conceited?" she retorted.

Instead of being discouraged Hao smirked, "If that's the game you want to play, so be it I'm a very generous man anyway" he said confidently then tried o touch Anna's cheek

Yoh couldn't help but laugh when his brother went home that afternoon and he asked how he got that mark on his face; his only reply was "Anna"

It's not everyday that his brother would get home with hand print on his cheek.

"Maybe you should preserve that in case she ever became Miss Shinra" Yoh managed between fits of laughter, "You could sell it as collector's item"

"That is so funny Yoh" growled Hao then went directly to his room.

Does Yoh have feelings for Anna? And the most important question is :

Is there really something between Yoh and Horo-horo? What are they really talking about?
