Chapter two: The Girl

Vlad's P.O.V.

Zoey. What an intoxicating way she said it. I watched as she strutted away, her auburn hair dancing, eyes turquoise, skin as pale as mine. Smiling to myself, I turned to walk the other way. Well, I can't risk having any friends but Henry; she might get hurt.

"Vladimir Tod?" Mr. Otis, my full vampire uncle called out. It was nice to have him back.

"Here," I answered, and he smiled at me. I couldn't help but smile back. His trial was a few days ago, I still couldn't believe I was found guilty when it was even my trial. I was sentence to death in a few weeks. But my mind really wasn't on this subject; it was racing on about that girl I met, Zoey. Who was she and why did she seem so familiar?

"Hi Vlad," a small voice whispered. I turned to see Meredith sitting there.

"Hello," I cooed, then turned my attention back to Otis. It was hard talking to her after I broke up with her and now she is dating Henry's cousin Joss. My ex best friend and my current enemy that was sworn to kill me.

"Today we are going to learn more about Vampires. You know, the basics. Stake through the heart, garlic, burning in the sun; crosses and don't forget their worst enemy," Otis started when Joss entered from the class door, "the slayer."

"Sorry I'm late Mr. Otis, I'm still getting use to my classes," Joss said, smirking, eyes glaring into mine. Was he really back for revenge on his sister that a vampire killed so long ago? Was he really going to go through with it this time?

"It's fine, but don't let it happen again Joss," Otis snapped. Joss sat himself in the very back. This was going to be a very long school year…
