Inspired by "I'm gonna get you for that!"

"I told-" thump "you that I-" thump "was going to-" thump "get you for that- "

What on earth? Helena wondered drowsily, blinking at the ceiling.

Carmela obviously was thinking the same thing, because Helena heard her voice a moment later. "Kit, as fun as you may think waking people up at six in the morning is, I for one need my beauty sleep- Nita?"

Nita? Right, Nita, Helena remembered her.

"Ha!" she heard Kit say, followed immediately by another thump.

Helena's curiosity got the better of her. She dragged herself out of bed, stumbled across her bedroom floor, and stuck her head out of her bedroom door.

"What's going on?"

Kit and Nita were fighting for control over a pillow that Helena supposed was Kit's. Both of them looked like they had just woken up; Nita's hair was a tangled mess, and Kit's was sticking up on one side. Mama would throw a fit.

"I like pillow fights here too, you know, but can we do this at a decent hour?" Carmela said groggily.

"Not my fault- Nita ambushed me," Kit said instantly.

"Only because you-" Nita began, but was cut off when Kit took advantage of her distraction to whack her on the head with the pillow.

Kit punched the air triumphantly. Nita punched him, not so triumphantly.

"Ow!" Kit yelped.

Nita rolled her eyes. "Oh, stop being a big baby..."

"Kit, can you kindly take your girlfriend elsewhere?" Carmela said, yawning. "I want to go back to bed."

Kit edged a glance at Nita and looked away quickly, while Nita flushed bright red and stared at the floor.

All traces of tiredness on Carmela's part vanished instantly. "Oh. My. God. You-"

Kit looked panicked. Helena understood why. This was Carmela, after all. "Nice talking to you, 'Mela, but we've gotta go-"

"Yeah, I have to talk to S'reee-" Nita agreed hurriedly.

"And I have to go with her-"

"Mind if we use your closet? Thanks! Bye!" And with that, Nita and Kit darted past Carmela and into her closet, slamming the door behind them.

Helena stared after them. Why on earth are they in Carmela's closet? If they're going somewhere, shouldn't they go downstairs and out the doors? Helena turned to Carmela, opening her mouth to ask...

...and shut it again at the odd sight of Carmela speechless.

Carmela was staring at her closet door. "Kit," she said slowly, with a trace of disbelief, "has a girlfriend."

Slowly, a wicked grin spread across Carmela's face. "And they were making such a big fuss about how they 'weren't dating' and how they were just friends and- did they think going through my closet was going to help them? Because there's no way," she continued, walking back into her room, "that I'm going to give up that easily-"

An ominous silence.

"They stole my remote! I'm going to get them for this-"

Helena said to the empty hallway, "You know, I think I'm just going to go back to bed..."
