The Devil and his Lady

Lady back against the wall and continued firing. After a long hard fight with the half demon Dante she was almost out of ammo. She pressed her right hand up against round column for support as she continued to fire. Dante kept coming, keeping a steady pace toward her. She watched as he became closer and the bullets seem to miss or bounce off his skin. She fired again and the gun made a clicking sound. Out of ammo. Dante kept walking until he was only a few inches from her face. He gently laid his hand above hers and placed the other on her left. His fingers worked until they were twisted though hers. Lady didn't hear the gun drop from her hand. All she could look at the Dante's pale blue eyes.

Dante leaned closer, "I'll take care of him." He said. He leaned in again and closer. Lady could smell the demon blood that was dried on his red coat. Moments ago she was angry at him, angry at her father. Now…she felt calm. She tried to take another step back but couldn't she felt the back of her head pressed against the wall, "Lady." Dante said her name. His hand unclenched from hers as he moved his hand to her neck.

"Lady." He said again, "At first I didn't give a damn but now because of you. I see. I see this is my family matter too. I know what's important and what I need to do." The index finger of his hand touched her jaw line, as he placed his lips upon hers. At first she wanted to pull away, she never seen or felt a demon be so gentle. Each time they met she thought about killing him and her father which was her main goal. Her thoughts have changed because of this half man, half demon. Not because of the kiss but of what he said. Both of Dante's hand now cupped Lady's jaw line. He pulled away placing his forehead on hers. They both kept their eyes closed for a moment. As Dante opened his eyes Lady kissed him back. A small smile came to his face.

"I still don't know your name." She said.

"Dante." He replied. Then turn to walk away.

"Wait!" Lady held out Kalina Ann, "Take this."

Dante turned back to see the rocket launcher held out for him to take it, "What's this going to cost me?" He asked.

"How about…" She paused for a second, "Another kiss, Dante?"

He took the weapon from her and placed it on his shoulder, "I'll make things right, trust me. That's what my soul is telling me to do." Lady slid against the wall onto the floor.

"Dante, free my father." Dante continued to walk down the corridor.

As he replied, "I will, Lady."
