Team Seven were walking through town after a particularly grueling training session. Sasuke was ahead of the other two because Sakura was exhausted and lagging behind and Naruto was about to take this opportunity to ask Sakura something important.

"Sakura?"

"Yes, Naruto?"

"Will you go out with me?"

"No."

One week later, under similar circumstances,

"Sakura?"

"Yes, Naruto?"

"Will you go out with me?"

"No."

And the following week,

"Sakura?"

"Yes, Naruto?"

"Will you go out with me?"

"No."

But the following week things changed. Well, a little bit.

"Sakura?"

"Yes, Naruto?"

"Will you go out with me?"

"Yes." Naruto stopped in shock.

"Really?"

"No."

The following week, though, things really ramped up. That day, despite the fact that Sakura had healed the rather nasty gash on his forehead that Naruto had inflicted, Sasuke had not even said "thank you". He'd just stood up and continued training.

So that day, the exchange changed.

"Sakura?"

"Yes, Naruto?"

"Will you go out with me?"

"Yes." Naruto stopped.

"Really?"

Sakura, and Sasuke for some reason, stopped and turned back to him.

"Yes, I'll meet you at Ichiraku's in one hour." Then Sakura pushed past Sasuke and walked away.

Naruto was jumping up and down for joy.

"Naruto."

"Yes, Sasuke?"

"You're annoying."

One hour later, Sakura walked into Ichiraku's and looked around. Then she stopped, absolutely shocked. She couldn't see Naruto anywhere, but what she could see was a familiar black hairdo. At her gasp, Sasuke turned around and looked at her.

He smirked.

"Naruto couldn't make it. I'm his replacement."

Sakura stood staring at him, for another minute or so, before smiling sweetly,

"Well, wasn't that sweet of you."

Lying on the floor in his apartment, tied up and gagged, Naruto sneezed.

"I'm going to get that teme!"
