This is set when Percy and Annabeth get dumped into the water by the nosy campers.

Percy's POV

And it was pretty much the best underwater kiss of all time.

But then I saw something in the water, so I pulled away. Annabeth looked confused and disappointed. As the thing got closer I held Annabeth closer to me, I had finally got I didn't want to lose straight away. I realised that the thing was two people.

"Dad?" I asked, puzzled.

He was holding a women to his side, who I first thought that it was his wife, Amphirite. But as they got closer, Annabeth said ,her eyes widening, "Mum?"

I've never seen Annabeth look so confused. The 'couple' approached us, laughing and holding hands.

"Hello, Annabeth my dear." Athena said, "As you can probably work out, Poseidon and I have put our differences aside and... well... we're together!"

My dad turned to me. "Isn't that wonderful news, my boy?!?!"

I didn't know what to say. Fortunately, Annabeth said something, my Wise Girl is hardly ever speechless. "But... He's your uncle..."

I have to admit, that wasn't the cleverest thing that she has ever said.

"Well..." Athena replied, "If you think about it, Zeus married his sister and so did many other gods. And if you are talking family trees, Annabeth, you've just kissed your half-uncle."

Me and Annabeth blushed.

"Anyway..." My dad finally said, "Athena and I have some catching up to do." They rose to the surface, leaving me and Annabeth gobsmacked.

I just started rambling on about how they ruined a moment of a lifetime, when Annabeth told me to shut up. I felt pretty hurt until I actually heard what she was so interested in. The two gods were laughing their heads off saying that they had 'pulled it off' and 'I can't believe they fell for it'. They had played a joke on us.

"They played a joke on us..." Annabeth said, I silently laughed at the fact that she had taken the words right out of my mouth. She was concentrating on something, she looks so cute when she thinks, even if is underwater. She whispered something in my ear. It was a plan. A prank to play on our parents...

Just as we planned, I rose up to the surface leaving Annabeth. I tried to look as angry and upset as I could. It was hard; I really just wanted to laugh.

"I HATE YOU, BOTH OF YOU!" I screamed, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE IS GONE! AFTER YOU TWO TALKED TO US, SHE JUST DISAPPEARED! ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!" I turned to run, when I forgot to say something.

"OH YEAH ATHENA, ANNABETH JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT SHE HATES YOU MORE THAN SHE HATED KRONOS!"

Then I ran. You couldn't call it a run, I went slowly to hear what the gods had to say after my rant. And that isn't an excuse. It was hilarious Athena was yelling at my dad, saying 'Your stupid son ruined it all' and he replied 'MY SON?! YOU WERE THE ONE WHO CAME UP WITH THIS PLAN!"

I was laughing so hard I couldn't move. But I eventually got to where Annabeth said to meet up. As expected she was there, tapping her wrist.

"You're late, Seaweed Brain!"

"Sorry, I was in stitches"

We could see the two gods still arguing, as if we believed that those two had gotten together. However, Athena looked like she was in tears. We cautiously walked up to them and Annabeth tapped her on her shoulder (Athena was obviously in her human form). "Mum..."

A shocked Athena fell into my dad's arms; my dad just dropped her on the floor.

"But you said.... that... Annabeth went..." Athena stammered

"You're not the only ones who can prank people" I said, winking at Annabeth.

My dad smiled, "Well, we best be getting back to our duties."

We all said our goodbyes and finally me and Annabeth were alone.

"Now where were we, Wise Girl?"
