What Edward Should Have said.
Bella closed the door to her truck as soon as she spotted him. He was standing next to the house, looking down at the ground. She kept her hopes up, but the look on his face did not bode well.
Edward looked up and studied her. She noticed that he looked pained, like someone torn between two different decisions. Edward gestured her over, and she walked in front of him, taking in his scent.
