Knowing

A/N: Well, Mike broke up with me, so you get this drippy one-shot! Yay!

Warnings: Set in modern day AU, kind of jerk-ish Zuko.

It's odd, isn't it. When you start know someone too well, you know ... well, everything.

And Aang liked this. Usually.

He knew when Zuko was arranging a surprise for them and know one knew about it, or when Zuko just needed a hug, or when he said just the thing to make Aangs heart swell with joy, and Aang knew he meant it.

But Aang didn't like it. More recently.

He knew when Zuko was getting out of their plans by saying he was visiting family, or when they ended up changing their plans because Zuko couldn't be bothered leaving his house. And he knew when Zuko was breaking up with him.

Just the casual 'Are you doing anything tomorrow? I need to speak to you' over the messenger on Aangs laptop gave it away.

So Aang got there first.

'You're breaking up with me.' he typed. Not a question, a statement. Zuko said nothing.

So Aang started typing back 'It's okay. I'd rather you did it now quickly now than try and make it less' Aang stopped typing. What could he say here, to describe what he needed to say. Painful? Messy? No.

So he just typed: 'It's okay.'

'Are you sure?'

'Yes. I handle break-ups very well, apparently.'

Lies, lies, lies. But Zuko just typed a smilie and logged off.

It's odd, isn't it. When you know everything about a person, but they don't see to know anything about you.

And Aang liked this. Usually.

Because it meant Zuko didn't know how Aangs heart felt like it had been ripped out, or how Aang just needed a hug, or how he knew he would never be completely happy ever again.

But Aang didn't like this. More recently.

Because no. Zuko didn't know anything.

A/N: There you go, short, sappy and not so sweet. Review and help Aang (and me, haha) feel better!
