Not Always a Lie
She had only been a child when it happened. A child whose parents were well and truly gone, leaving her to live with an aunt who didn't care.
He had walked into her life, ate, fixed the crack in her wall and wandered back out again, and though he said he'd be back in 5 minutes he wasn't.
She should have known, even at her young age back then, to never listen to an adult when they said they'd be right back. It was always a lie.
Now, inside the TARDIS, she knew one thing.
He meant to come back.
