Ron's driving lesson

"I hate this hill," Ron shuddered. "You'll do fine Ron," his brother-in-law assured him. Ron still panicked as he blazed up the hill, frightful speed that the car leapt into the air before landing and racing down up to the next hill. Though he was wearing a seatbelt, Harry hung onto the dashboard for dear life as they proceeded to the next hill.

"SLOW DOWN!" Harry yelled. They did slow down – a little too much.

Instead of going straight down the car swerved to one side, causing both car occupants to panic.

"MIND THAT TREE!" Harry yelled.

"WHERE'S THE BREAK? WHERE'S THE BREAK? WHERE'S THE BREAK?" Ron panicked.

The tree was five feet away!

"AHHHHH!!!" they both screamed. Then there was utter blackness.

Harry groaned, the first thing he saw was blue eyes. "He's awake," said a familiar voice. It took Harry a few moments to realise that those eyes belonged to his father-in-law.

"How's Ron?" he muttered, wincing at the headache he had. The Healer came in then and told them that it would be at least two weeks before his broken arm and leg would heal much to Harry's displeasure.

"And Ron?" he asked.

"As you can see I'm still alive," said a familiar voice from his left. Harry craned his neck slightly to look. Sure enough the red headed comedian of his brother-in-law was still alive.

Alive... Harry began to laugh. It took Ron a few moments to realise what was so funny, and he too began laughing.

"Did the assistant Healer give those two Essence of Insanity?" Molly asked the Healer. The poor woman shook her head before bringing her attention back to her patients.

"No, mum," Ron chortled, "We were just remembering our second year..."

Hermione smiled wearily as did her mother-in-law, "When you both narrowly got expelled."

"And flattened by the Whomping Willow..." Molly continued.

"And killed..." added Arthur.

"Uh... verbally, or physically?" asked Harry. Arthur frowned. "Both," he said firmly.

"I guess I won't be driving any time soon," said Ron sadly.

"Actually," said Harry, grinning, "I have an idea for extra protection."

Ron did not like the grin.

"What kind of extra protection?" he asked carefully.

One month later...

"Harry," Ron muttered, adjusting his pink ribbon covered helmet, "This is not what I had in mind!"

"Better safe than sorry if you ask me," Harry told him a little too cheerfully as he started the car.

"How come yours is blue then?"

"I don't scream like a girl."
