Just a thought I had... I is evil...

Disclaimer: I own nothing. Literally. I'm a poor girl...

"And what have we here?" Mallymkun jumped and spun around, sword drawn, at the startling voice.

"Oh, Chess, it's you. Gave me a right start, you did." She wiped her eyes and sniffled, sitting back down. She was alone (or had been) at the March Hare's table; Thackary and Tarrant were at Marmoreal, with Alice. Alice... the right Alice, not just for Underland, but... for Tarrant... With that sad thought she was reduced to tears once more.

She heard Chessur behind her, purring; the sound grew louder, followed by the warmth of his fur as he sat, curling himself around her. She leaned against him and wept, until her tears were spent.

"There there, Mally, really, I do hate to see you like this." He gently licked the top of her head, almost knocking over, and she laughed lightly.

"Thanks, Chess. I suppose it is time I got over it... him... It's not like it would've worked out anyway."

"Yes, the physical differences would complicate things," Chess said teasingly, a gleam in his eyes. After a moment, realization crossed Mally's face, and she blushed profusely.

"I wasn't thinking about that, you... you.. oof!" She sat down in a huff, facing the opposite direction, embarrassed but stubborn.

"Ah yes, but you are a female, are you not? Surely you have certain... desires?" Chess purred as he floated around to face her again. She turned again and again, trying to avoid him, but considering his size, it was impossible. Finally she threw up her hands.

"Fine! So maybe I do wish I could... well... but I can't, so let's just leave it at that!" Chess chuckled, and licked the top of her head again, lightly. She smiled; the feeling was comforting, and not altogether unpleasant. He licked her again, on her ear this time, and she shivered slightly.

"Stop that now, that tickles," she half-giggled, half-breathed. He continued to lick her, but she noticed something strange... was his tongue getting smaller? She opened her eyes, and gasped. HE was getting smaller! Soon he was barely bigger than she was.

"You know, Mally, it's rather lonely being the only Cheshire Cat in Underland..." He floated around her as he spoke, his eyes gleaming. Mally blushed heavily, beginning to understand his implications. She watched as he disappeared, then reappeared sitting atop a closed teapot. She walked over to him hesitantly, before hopping in through the spout.

"Chess, I-" Chessur placed a paw on her lips, silencing her.

Thackary was bounding home, calling for Mallymkun, when Chessur appeared before him, making him jump backwards in alarm.

"I think it would be better to let her rest. She and I were playing a little game of Cat and Mouse, and I do believe I wore her out. Goodbye," he said airily before evaporating into a blueish-gray mist. Thackary shrugged and sat down to tea, trying to keep his madness to a minimum. If he had opened the blue teapot on the other end of the table, he would have found a sleeping, and very satisfied, door mouse.
