I do not own Ace Attorney, or any of it's characters.

This is something I wrote when I was listening to that Jazz CD they released based on Ace Attorney music. From the perspective of Phoenix.

---------

As a child, I didn't really have much of a goal in life. Spending countless days coming and going to school- with my friends, in which I only had two. Well, there used to be one, until…

One day, I was accused of taking somebody's lunch? Lunch money? Something akin to that. I didn't do it, but since I was the one seen going into the classroom alone, even the teacher doubted my innocence.

And there he was- my present rival in court- Miles Edgeworth. He fought that I was innocent, saying that while there was no evidence I didn't steal it, simultaneously, there was no evidence saying that I did steal it.

I eventually was relieved from the title of, "Stealer," though we never really found out who did steal it…

Back onto my story, after that, he amazed me. He stated he wanted to become a defense attorney- just like his father. I went home that day and told my mother about it- and she responded that his father was a very renowned defense attorney. I was brand new to this- so I just nodded in a state mixed with being perplexed and adornment.

Miles, Larry, and I became close friends. We'd always go and buy some ice cream or something after school, and Miles would scream at the pigeons, going "You're the true criminal for eating the breadcrumbs!" Of course, I thought Larry ate the breadcrumbs, but Miles knew more about pigeons than I did.

Then, suddenly, Miles was absent for a long time… He never returned my calls, and transferred to a different school- moving away from America.

I decided to become a defense attorney.

It pretty much worked out, because I found out, through the newspaper, that he had become a prosecutor. Yes- it struck me as strange, but I shook it off. He ignored any of my attempts to contact him- so I met him again the only way I could.

In a court of law.

It's not that he wasn't surprised to see me; he only kept on this ice-cold stare. I'm telling you- I'm going to get nightmares from that stare…

I turned the case around, since I knew that the defendant was too… How do I say it? He was too… Naïve to actually commit a murder, especially of one that was his co-worker. (He is huge, but he does have a heart.)

And those events led up to where I am now, in the defendant's lobby.

"The trial will reconvene soon."

"Come on, Nick!" Maya, my assistant, ran towards the courtroom.

"Hey! Don't fall and hurt your self!"

That's all I really have to say for now. This is the only thing I can really do.

I can't drive. I don't know how to play any musical instrument.

The only thing I really have… Is my law prowess.

Time to use it in it's fullest! Let's go!
