Infection | D R A B B L E

It was like a disease.

It crawled up her skin and ran through her veins, poisoning her body. This syndrome could never go away until he, too, left.

But she didn't want that.

His hair was always a bit messy-looking. But when the warm sun's rays reached him, it seemed to comb it and made him look... handsomer, somehow.

She had never felt his skin, but she was pretty sure she might like the feel of it if she ever had enough time to actually feel it.

His eyes didn't pierce. Definitely not. His eyes were like high-level acid. They burned through her and reopened a forgotten scar of love. Though this time, the scar grew and expanded even further and infected her heart.

She would, for all the time she saw him, ask, "Why?"

And that once-dormant yet permanent scar would sear with agony if she was not within reach of him.

As for him, he couldn't stand her at all. She was too eager to learn everything about the world, earnest about knowledge and fascinated by nature.

And truthfully, he was jealous. Every time he called her that nickname, even if she would frown, it didn't mean that she wasn't pretty or anything.

In fact, she had grown even more beautiful since day one.

Her hair glimmered in the sunshine, sparkled in the rain.

A regular maiden's soft hands would just not do. Her hands appeared to be dry from all the work she did, all the experiences she had.

Her eyes were bright with excitement. Never did a storm cloud in them, it instead always seemed like ice took that place. When happy, they glittered. When sad, they turned gray. When angered, they grew sharper and sharper until it pierced right through him.

The wound from the ice was unbearable, yet in a way, he liked it. Certainly not - he was no masochist! It was unexplainable.

Sooner or later, he, too, would become infected from a wound. Soon, he would think to himself, 'How I would love to reach for her hand, at least once!'

Definitely, both of them would stop riding this train of frustration and meet at the same station.

Which pairing is it - BlueGreen, BlueSilver, GoldCrystal, RubySapphire?

I am actually proud of this drabble. I am satisfied with the way it turned out, probably because this time, I didn't make a lame plot. Yay. Even if this fic has ample cheesy moments, I'm still very satisfied with my second fail at poetry.
