He was always on the move. One place to another, one more apartment, condo, or even a tent once. He liked to think of himself as curious not as the restless person he knew he could be.

Of course it was always by the ocean. There was something about the waves that made him feel at home. The smell wasn't too bad either. And on a particularly crisp morning he could catch an early swim. If he wanted to be philosophical about it Callen supposed that he loved the way the waves changed from day to day and yet was still familiar.

"The home is where the heart is."

He can remember at one of the many foster homes he stayed at that there was a plaque. It reminded him that he could never be home for nobody loved him and therefore was no heart in his house. So he continues his search for the perfect domain even though he knows it shall never come.

A quick case with short paperwork meant the team was going out. Sam and Callen piled into his car while Kensi drove Nate and Eric. They all decided unanimously that clubbing was out; they just wanted to unwind over a nice meal. After their check was paid their stomachs were full and comfort high. Eric was the first to leave for he said his new program was downloaded by now. Nate followed soon after stating his logical mind need to shut off it's mechanics before tomorrow came.

"G you need a ride?" Sam asked as he was putting on his jacket, ready to turn in for the night.

"Don't worry Sam I'll make sure he doesn't stay up past his bedtime." Kensi quipped.

"In that case I'll see ya'll tomorrow."

Now there were two. G and Kensi stayed until their waitress started asking them if they were sure they didn't want anymore coffee. After the fifth time being eyed up they finally called it a night and piled into Kensi's car.

"You missed the turn." Callen pointed out. Although barely for Kensi did have a need for speed sometimes.

"I know." Kensi replied while passing another car. "I'm not letting you spend another night on that couch or you'll need a masseuse."

Even though she sometimes broke a few speed limits Callen thought Kensi's driving was soothing. Somehow she managed to avoid every pothole and Callen managed to drift off the sleep. Next thing he knew he was being poked.

"Urhg?" He growled opening his eyes to a beautiful girl giggling at his expense.

"You know I have never really realized how funny it is when a person talks in their sleep. Did you manage to catch the person who committed the horrible act of stealing the alphabet?" More giggles erupted from the near hysterical woman; the man's response was to glare and stumble out of the car.

After almost tripping up the stairs to Kensi's apartment she finally grabbed his hand. The warm feeling the made him blush was not from embarrassment.

Her apartment wasn't completely spotless like Dom's or as messy as his. The location was just above the crashing waves but she had no seashells. There were no dirty dishes in the sink and no flowers. He wondered how he got in comfortable pajamas and why he was laying in a sweet smelling bed instead of a hard couch but one thing Callen was certain of was that he could stay in Kensi's apartment until the floor caved in and the walls gave out if she was there.
