A.N. I think I lost almost all of my motivation for this one, but had the ending pretty much planned out. Instead of leaving it to gather dust on my computer, I grant you all - THE END SCENE! dun Dun DUN!

For Want of Chocolate - The Final Scene

As Mr. Wonka moved toward the elevator, he paused, hit the open button and abruptly turned around saying, "Well now, children. I shall just have to make you co-heirs - Oh my..." He dead-panned.

A hand-span before him, two mismatched eyes were narrowed and adorned a face with a superlicious sneer with winged brows arched as if to take flight in disdainful doubt.

"So Sarah, this is your 'candy-man'?"

"I beg your pardon, Miss Sarah, but did you invite a spy into my chocolate factory?"

The aforementioned Sarah stood firm with a gentle hand on her brother's shoulder.

Young Toby took it upon himself to answer. "No Mr. Wonka. He kinda just appears whenever he wants to... But I'm sorry too."

With chocolate eyes keeping watch on this strange (Heh) new entity within his domain, Wonka questioned, "Oh? Did you invite him then?"

Toby rolled his eyes, "No Mr. Wonka. I'm sorry that I'll have to decline your - co-heir thingie. I'm not the one who found the ticket. I'm the guest, remember? My sister was the one who found it first in our shared chocolate bar."

"My, my, that does make the situation a bit dark chocolatey. While I do have questions about our newest arrival, that doesn't preclude the offer of co-heir-ship for you Miss Sarah? Hmm?"

At this, the blond-maned noble, for his stride was anything but a commoner's, took a step further into the confectioner's space. His words a purring challenge.

"I wonder, Mister CandyMan, which lasts longer? Candy or Magic?"

Ever so nonchalantly, Wonka held up his hand, "Everlasting Gobstopper?" he offered.

Crossing the distance with a counter-offer, a palm sized crystal bubble with the words, "Eternal dreams?"

With a half-laugh that was unsure if it was disguised as a snort, Sarah came abreast of the two thin but powerfully charismatic figures. She reached up, and both men silently held their breath to see which offer she chose, only to share a disgruntled look when she curled their hands over their own offers, essentially rejecting them both.

She took a step between them with a hand on either chest and applied pressure to push them back. Young Charlie was already in the open and waiting elevator, and Wonka's step, two, three small steps back also brought him into the small cubicle.

"Mr. Wonka, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and I am willing to bet Toby has as well, but I will have to officially decline your offer."

Rather than looking hurt, the Chocolatier looked rather intrigued at this turnabout. "Shall I have a reason for this, Miss Sarah?"

A smooth black gloved hand wrapped around Sarah's thin shoulder and pulled her into a silken clothed chest. Suddenly smug in assumed victory, the richly yet darkly clad stranger tossed a spinning golden orb at the Candy Man who caught it reflexively.

"It should be obvious that Magic and dreams won, but for your trouble, you can keep it." The blond added with a malicious smirk, "It's candied."

Wonka brought the golden orb shape up for inspection. It appeared to be a perfectly formed candied peach. Exquisite, really. A wonder for consumption from someone not in the profession who would never have expected an edible sweet to be produced by. A gentle tug on his coat brought his attention to young Charlie who subtlely gestured back toward the odd trio, an age-less man, a young woman, and a boy.

The woman, still tucked under the arm of the silk and lace clad male was shaking her head minutely and mouthing silently 'Don't eat it!'

Of course, this was when the free hand of the dark agent was placed on young Toby's shoulder and with a wink and a stolen kiss from the corner of Miss Sarah's lips, all three disappeared in a small shower of sparkles.

Wonka looked from the disappearing sparkles, to the candied peach, and on to young Charlie, who blinked back at him owlishly...

"Well now..."

"Yeah..."

"I think I have a few new ideas for testing! Let's get started!"

"Sure!"

The elevator doors closed and took off diagonally.
