Dutch moved across the battlefield, searching the corpses of good Marines and the vile Covenant for spare weapons and ammunition. Romeo came up behind him, reloading his Battle Rifle, "Some fight man, some fight."

"Better believe it. So many dead, it just seems pointless sometimes," the large ODST soldier replied, shaking his head as he pulled a Needler off a dead Grunt.

"Yo, Dutch," Romeo knelt down behind him, "Look at this Grunt's pack!"

"What are you talking about Romeo?"

The Marine grabbed the alien, pulling it up into a sitting position, "Right here, these things open."

"Huh, go figure."

Romeo gently eased the pack open, "Well, let's see what we've got inside here."

Dutch backed up, "Wow there Romeo, careful now. That thing could explode at any time."

"Oh calm down." The soldier shoved his arm into the opening, "Dude, this thing is bigger on the inside than on the outside."

"Oh great, now there's physics involved."

Romeo brought his other hand up to his helmet, "Shhh, I think I got something."

Dutch rolled his eyes, pulled up a list on his HUD, and marked the objects down as Romeo pulled them out.

"Wow, this is weird," Romeo said, shaking his hand as he pulled it out.

"You're telling me," Dutch answered, grabbing the Grunt and starting his own search of the pack.

Romeo calmly reached into the pack, "I don't think even something high could have collected all this stuff."

Dutch whacked Romeo in the head as the former went for the pack, "Don't even think about it."

Romeo stopped suddenly, then turned to Dutch, "This next one is heavy, give me a hand here." The two Marines reached into the pack, heaving and tugging until they managed to yank the perfectly preserved body of a young woman out.

"Who is this?"

Romeo searched her pockets, pulling out a wallet and it's ID, "It says Emilia Earhart, wonder who that is?"

"Ah, who cares, we gotta get back to base anyway."

Dutch began to walk away, ignoring Romeo's spread arms, "But what're we gonna do with all this stuff?!"

"Who cares, if we want to we'll get it later."

Romeo stood, following the retreating form of his comrade, turning back only once to look at the forlorn pile of stuff.
