A/N: Okay, so I love the Lux/Baze dynamic. I think that they are such an adorable father/daughter fit. This is an extremely short, fluffy one-shot.
Disclaimer: I do not own, good thing I don't, there would be crazy character development left and right and it would be out in a season, bahahaha...ha. :)
"Hello? Earth to Lux." Baze said waving a hand in front of Lux's face. They were outside of Westmonte and Lux was just sitting there staring off into space.
"Oh, uh, sorry. Just thinking." Lux said, reaching down to grab her backpack.
"About?" Baze asked before she had the chance to get out of the car.
Lux rolled her eyes even though she was smiling, Baze was such a great father without even knowing it.
"I don't know, I was just sort of thinking..." Lux all but stammered.
"Out with it, kiddo." Baze said, watching Lux struggle for words.
"When is the appropriate time that I start calling you dad?" Lux asked, looking up at Baze.
Lux had wanted parents her entire life, people that she could call mom and dad. Now that she did have parents, her biological ones at that, she was eager to test out those titles that were so foreign on her tongue.
"Wow. You actually want to call me dad?" Baze asked, like he had told Cate, he thought that Lux looked at him like her screw up, older brother.
"At some point, yeah." Lux said, nodding her head.
Baze couldn't help the smile that was covering his face, it must have been contagious because Lux started smiling too.
"Look, kiddo, you're stuck with me for life. Don't force it, I just enjoy being your dad. But yeah, at some point if you feel comfortable with calling me dad, I'll love it." Baze said.
"Okay." Lux said, opening the car door.
"Bye, kiddo, I'll see you after school." Baze said as she got out of the car.
"Bye dad." Lux said before she shut the door and walked into school.
Baze smiled as he watched her walk towards the school. Lux had this way of actually making him feel like he was worth something. Like he wasn't some forgotten quarterback or lowly bartender, he was her dad and she wanted to acknowledge him as that.
A/N: Boom-shaka-locka-locka! Yeah, so that was that...tell me what you think, unless its negative, then don't...I'm somewhat sensative.
