Disclaimer: I own nothing, and just wrote this little filler to satisfy my own need for romance!

Author's Note: This is a little scene addition to the episode 'William' when the burnt man (later identified as Jeremy Spender) is in Scully's house, and the three agents are sitting in the lounge room trying to process everything as the night stretches long before them.

When Monica Reyes took her seat and sat back against the couch, John Doggett's hand brushed against her hair as they exchanged a concerned glance.

As the burnt man unknowingly slips the pills from his mouth and enters the baby's room, Scully hasn't moved from her position on the couch and Doggett had since fallen asleep. His head was thrown was thrown back against the couch cushions, his arm still stretched out along the back.

Reyes was trying her best to stay awake for Scully's sake, but she was fighting a losing battle with sleep. When she could fight it no more, her head dropped back against Doggett's wrist behind her, before it rolled along the length of his arm of its own volition. She came to rest against his shoulder as his arm came down to pull her close, even in sleep.

She was only in his embrace for a split second.

The moment ended when William began to cry and Scully jumped up from her seat in concern. Startling from her doze, Reyes pushed herself up from the couch via Doggett's knee and was right behind Scully. She didn't need to look to know that John was right behind her.
