Kurt walked along the corridor, humming under his breath. His new jacket was rather dapper. In fact, some said, jaunty. He paused, ducking into the bathroom to check that he still looked pristine. However, what he saw there made him pause and think.

It was Finn, standing in front of the mirror, checking out his reflection. That was odd in itself, but one thing that was even odder was the button badge he was wearing – a rainbow. It was obvious, thought Kurt, that Finn had no idea of the symbolism of the pin, and no idea how to wear it.

"You know," he said to the taller boy, "You're wearing that pinbadge all wrong. Whoever told you to wear one on a letter jacket?"

"No-one told me to," said Finn sheepishly, "I just… wanted to. Why? What's wrong with it?"

"Well, nothing specifically… You do know what the rainbow symbolises, right?"

"Kurt, that's… why I wore it."

"Wait… what?" Kurt was befuddled by Finn's assertion. Then, lowering his voice, "But… you're straight, aren't you?"

"But," said Finn with a wink, "Whoever said you had to be completely one way or the other? Now, could you show me how to wear this button?"

"First," said Kurt, his hands undoing the button's clasp and putting it on his own jacket, "It's worn on a lapel."

"And… secondly?"

"Secondly, you have to earn it." Kurt breathed deeply, looked around to check that nobody was around, and brought Finn's lips down to his own.
