A/N: So sorry this update took so long AGAIN. I started this story my senior year of highschool and I just graduated with my Bachelor Degree so I am heartily ashamed. Luckily this will be the last chapter. Thank you guys so much for sticking with me!

P.s. I'm taking major creative license in this chapter.

Chapter 15

It's time

The Doctor never remembered feeling so frightened in his life. After Rose's declaration that her water had broke, he froze for about 3 seconds before his mind kicked into gear. All of the plans had been for Rose to deliver at Torchwood. Although there had been no issues with the pregnancy aside from when Rose had been malnourished, they didn't want to take any chances with her delivering an alien baby without trained professionals nearby.

"What!" The Doctor cried out when he was aware of his surroundings once more. "I thought Bad Wolf healed everything over!"

"Not even Bad Wolf can stop mother nature." Jack said as he dropped to his knees beside Rose. "How far apart are the contractions?" he asked gently.

Rose panted as a strong contraction hit her. "I don't really know. Was a bit too distracted to keep track you know?" she said sarcastically. Jack smiled fondly at the proof that Rose still had that spark. He looked around the room and took in all of the dead bodies and blood that littered the floor and glanced back at the Doctor and Rengali.

"We need to get her out of here." he said softly. "No child needs to be born around all of this."

The men all agreed and the Time Lord gently lifted Rose from her place on the floor. She whimpered in pain and discomfort. "It's all right darling," he whispered as he pressed a tender kiss to the side of her head. "We'll get you out of here and everything will be alright." He took a moment to hold her close to his body and she calmed considerably in his tight embrace.

"I'm sorry I let this happen to you," he said gently, "and I promise that from now on, you and our baby are my number one priority."

Rose felt tears leak down her cheeks that had nothing to do with the pain as they moved down the hall. The Doctor kept a steady stream of words flowing at the distressed woman that soothed her tattered nerves and pain wracked body. She was so grateful for this alien man that had come in and shaken up her life, and she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he would take care of her and their child. The only thing that still brought her discomfort was not knowing if he truly loved her or if he felt obliged to her because of the child. She knew she loved him, but the thought of a future on the TARDIS with a man that was there to fulfill an obligation was nearly unbearable.

She vowed to put this in the back of her mind and determined within herself that she was going to focus on having a baby. As they reached the outside of the complex, The Doctor used his backup sonic screwdriver to call to the TARDIS. He hoped beyond hope that when he and the other men were taken the TARDIS had not been taken somewhere he couldn't call to it, or worse, destroyed.

He held his breath as Rose let out a whimper at a particularly strong contraction. As a faint whirring noise was heard, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. The TARDIS appeared in front of their eyes and they ran in the door.

"Jack!" The Doctor called out. "Do you remember how to pilot this ol' girl?"

"Sure thing!" Jack yelled back as he stepped up to the console. "To Torchwood we go." he muttered under his breath as he felt the tension in his shoulders. He looked behind him. "Rengali, you'll have to come with us. Sorry man. Baby and all." the American man said with false calm.

Rengali smiled and nodded. " As I expected sir. The beautiful Rose and her child take precedence."

Jack grimaced, glad that The Doctor was already too far down the hall to hear that statement.

In the medical bay the nervous alien man gently deposited Rose on the bed. As Rose breathed through the contractions that were coming 5 minutes apart, he quickly but efficiently ran tests on Rose to make sure there was no lingering damage and check the progress of Rose's labor. What he saw shocked him.

"Rose?" he asked tentatively, "do you feel any different?" She looked mildly annoyed.

"Well I do feel like I'm in labor, which isn't something I do every day." she retorted sarcastically. The Doctor stepped closer to the bed and gently took her upper arm.

"Rose you're- you've...I…." After a pause to gather his thoughts he started again. "You have t-two heartbeats. You're anatomy is, well, different now. Rose you're changing."

The pregnant woman's eyes went wide."What?" she screeched.

The Doctor smiled. "What's the square root of pi?"

"1.77245385091, why do you ask?" she said breathlessly before her face contorted into one of confusion, then pure shock. "I think I get the difference now... But how?"

The Time Lord pulled up a stool and pinched the bridge of his nose in thought. "Bad Wolf must have done it. When you absorbed the time vortex it- well I guess there was always a part left in you, to protect you. It found something that it liked and could use. You've been given this Rose, almost as a gift."

Rose sat, shell shocked, almost not noticing the next contraction as it took hold.

"I didn't even know that could happen." The Doctor said into the silence that had taken over the room. As he glanced towards the bed, the look on Rose's face made him nervous.

"Rose." He whispered tentatively. She looked at him, eyes full of emotion and understanding. She smiled weakly at him.

"So what does this mean for us?" She asked quietly. "I can process so many thoughts right now. I can answer questions of time and space. My head is swimming. But I don't know the answer to us." The newly formed Galifreyan looked almost sad after her declaration.

The Doctor could feel excitement coursing through his veins. This was the moment. He sat next to Rose on the bed and gently took her hand into his. He took in the bewildered look in her eyes, the ruffled hair and red face and in that moment, he knew that he had never been so happy.

"Rose, I love you. I truly love you." He said reverently. The shocked woman took in a deep breath as The Doctor continued. "I love our child so much and I can't wait to meet him." His eyes took on a sad but hopeful look. "I'm so sorry that I haven't been there for you throughout this entire pregnancy and I'm sorry for all of the hurt that I caused you. But please believe that I love you so much and I have never been happier than I am now. I promise to take care of you and our son and protect you with all that I am. "

A slow and steady smile spread across Rose's face as she felt tears drip from her eyes. His words were a balm to her battered heart and the love and sheer joy that she felt threatened to overwhelm her. "I love you too, so much." she whispered through her tears.

The Doctor could only laugh in sheer delight as he pressed his lips to hers. They kissed with all of the pent up emotions that they had been holding in the past several months. Both felt such a sense of relief as Rose felt herself wrapped in The Doctor's arms. The moment was broken when a strong contraction swept over the happy woman that caused her to cry out. The Time Lord quickly remembered that the love of his life was in labor and went back to his tests with one hand while the other held tight to hers.

Soon the TARDIS let him know they had reached Torchwood just as Jack burst into the room, followed closely by Rengali. "We're here and Dr. Grant and her team are standing by!" the American man shouted in a near frenzy.

The Doctor scooped up Rose again and quickly carried her from the room and out of the TARDIS. There was a bed waiting for Rose and they quickly pushed her into a prepared birthing room. Soon the room grew silent as Rose was hooked up to monitors and the sound of her two heartbeats filled the room. Dr. Grant's eyes were wide with shock. "What is this?"

The Doctor, who was standing by and letting the doctors and nurses work, smiled and stepped forward, gripping Rose's hand tightly. "Bad Wolf gave her a gift."

Most of the people in the room looked fairly confused but all activity started back up as soon as they heard a cry of pain from the woman going into labor. Dr. Grant worked with a small smile on her face.

After about 15 more minutes, Dr. Grant's voice rang out over the crowd. "It's time."

Rose and The Doctor looked at each other, anticipation and love showing in their eyes. "Are you ready to be a mummy?" He asked with a smile. "Only if you're ready to be a dad." she answered back.

His smile grew wider. "Then let's do this." He leaned over and kissed her forehead tenderly.

The whole birth was a blur for the waiting parents. The Doctor placed himself behind Rose's back once she got tired and helped to support her weight as she pushed out their child. After the kidnapping ordeal and transformation, Rose's body was tired. It was almost like a regeneration had happened so she was exhausted. All of the physical perks to being a Time Lord hadn't kicked in yet for her. The Doctor was in the bed with her, holding her up and whispering encouraging words in her ear. It kept her fighting, each contraction and wave of pain weakening her as she pushed. Finally, just as Rose felt she couldn't push anymore, she heard Dr. Grant excitedly declare "He's Out!"

A small but powerful cry rang out and The Doctor thought that he had never heard such a beautiful sound in his life. He leaned forward and kissed Rose on her cheek. A bundle of baby still covered in blood and fluids was handed to the new, elated mother. Rose sat, her back leaned against The Doctor's chest and let the tears flowed from her eye's. It had been such a long journey to get to this moment and even through the fatigue, she could feel the weight of the last 9 months lift completely from her shoulders. The awed Time Lord gently stroked the baby's head, his two hearts completely smitten.

Dr. Grant was reluctant to interrupt the scene before her but she knew they needed to get the baby cleaned up and checked out and the afterbirth taken care of. Soon the baby was whisked away and Rose gave The Doctor a tired smile as she encouraged him to go with the new little Time Lord.

24 Hours Later

Rose was sat up in her hospital bed, smiling and watching her newborn son. The Doctor sat snuggled up next to her, the baby ensconced safely in his arms. The look of smiling contentment on his face was one that could rival the Mona Lisa. He leaned over and kissed Rose softly on the lips. "I love you."

"I love you too." She said back, a large smile playing on her face. After a thoughtful moment, Rose spoke quietly. "What do you think of the name Bayode? I know it's odd but…" Her voice trailed off as her large brown eyes glanced at The Doctor's facial expression. He looked thoughtful.

"African. Means 'He comes with joy.'" He smiled at Rose. "I think I like it."

Rose gave a relieved sigh. "I know that Gallifreyan names are, well, much different, but I love the meaning and thought it would be a wonderful ode to my human heritage to give him an earth name. We can call him Bay for short. Or mini Doctor." She said with a smirk.

The besotted man laughed as he scooted closer to Rose. "Anything for you, my love."A contented look washed over the new mother's face and he loved her all the more. "Thank you Rose, for this gift." He said, looking down at the baby in his arms. "This is more than I could have ever asked for or deserved. I love you both with all of my heart."

A small tear fell from Rose's eye as she kissed him, overcome with emotion and where her life had taken her.

'Uncle' Jack, as he took to calling himself, stopped in later that day to meet the new little Time Lord and Rengali stopped by before returning home, managing just to congratulate them and not flirt with Rose the entire time. He graciously accepted their thanks for his help in saving their lives and made for his home planet.

2 Months Later

Rose smiled at her husband as he held up their son, going over equations with a goofy grin on his face. At 2 months, Bay was already speaking simple words. He could say mum, dad, radioactive, and a barrage of other words he frequently heard his mum and dad speak.

A month after Bay's birth, The Doctor and rose were married in a small ceremony at Torchwood that included traditional rituals from earth and Galifrey. Rose had managed to mend things between her mother and Micky so they were present to witness the nuptials. It had been one of the happiest days of her life.

It was a different life that they lived. Rose still reveled in the fact that she was on The Doctor's level now. They spoke of points in time. She felt much more useful on any stopovers since she understood what was happening and two super-genius minds was better than one.

The Doctor smiled as he taught his son a new word again. Bay had dark hair and beautiful expressive hazel eyes. He was the cutest little Time Lord and he had stolen his daddies hearts. He giggle and The Doctor laughed out loud at the tinkling sound that charmed his ears. Rose came over and they snuggled up together on the couch in the family room. Ever since Bay's birth, the TARDIS had added in a family room. The Doctor's room ended up next to the nursery and Rose moved in with him.

Some days, Rose had to pinch herself to make sure her life was still a reality.

10 Years Later

Brown Haired, blue eyed Rose smiled at her son. By this point, her and The Doctor had regenerated. Now that they led a quieter life, they didn't get caught in sticky situations as often. Rose was now a tall brunette with a slim figure and face to kill. The Doctor was a sandy blonde, brown eyed distinguished looking handsome gentleman. He wasn't as big of a kidder anymore, but he still loved his family above all things and spent as much time as possible showing them the world.

In both regenerations, there had been tears shed. It was hard knowing that you would never see that face again that you fell in love with, but the soul was the same and that was where the true love was.

Bay was in his 'lab' in the TARDIS working on a rocket that he had managed to snag blueprints for from NASA on their last trip to earth. He was still the same, wonderful child that managed to make his parents love him more each day.

The Doctor walked up and wrapped his hands around Rose's expanding waist. "Hi love." He whispered as he kissed her cheek. She smiled as she leaned back into his embrace. "We're here."

The family stepped off of the TARDIS into Torchwood and grinned as Jack ran to greet them with smiles and hugs. He ruffled Bay's hair and the two ran off to cause trouble while Rose and The Doctor went to their check up for the newest little Time Lord getting ready to make her entrance into the world.

Rose sighed in contentment as her and her child were given a clean bill of health. She counted her blessings as she cuddled up to her husband that night.

END STORY

Wow…..This story has been over 4 years in the making but I want to thank everyone that stuck with me. I know it's been rough and updates haven't always (never) been regular but you guys are the best! I hope you enjoyed the story. I took a lot of creative license with this story and that's ok cause it's never going to T.V. anyhow :-) I haven't actually read all of the reviews from the last chapter due to having almost NO free time. I'm travelling the country right now so if there were any questions feel free to PM me! Thanks again!
