L was not infallible.
Or… perhaps L, the greatest detective, was perfect.
But L Lawliet was not.

L Lawliet was an orphan, brought up in Wammy's House.
L Lawliet was a role model for three younger boys.
L Lawliet was a sugar-holic, blessed with a metabolism so high that when he gorged himself on his favorite sweet treats, he was in danger of losing weight.
L Lawliet was so sheltered from the rest of the world that even the nuances of simple social situations escaped him.
L Lawliet was not the faceless, nameless, and therefore soulless identity known as the world's greatest detective.
He was not the identity-less, eternal guise the public had associated with the name, emotionless and infallible.

On the contrary…

In the end, he was all too human.
