It had been 5 months since Raccoon City became an undead graveyard. Once we had made it to safety Jill kept her promise and created dozens of copies of the taped confessions of Alice and I. The confessions of truth that she promised would be let out unto the world. Within a couple of weeks after sharing the information it all went to shit again. It had now been officially 4 and a half months for all of us to be reported as wanted criminals, responsible for the destruction of Raccoon City. Umbrella claimed that it was a nuclear reactor meltdown that killed the entire city. We were wanted for questioning for the conspiracy of creating the meltdown. Since then we we hid in random shandy towns that no one had ever heard of, one motel type towns. We kept off the radar as much as we could. Jill putting her con abilities as well as lock picking abilities to assist us. We only used cash, never cards. We had no phones, no forms of communication outside of face to face talk. Umbrella's hold on the world was stronger than ever, keeping tabs on them was not difficult.

We learned that all of our previous jobs played in our favor. All of us were part of the corporation, all of us were in some kind of security or law. Carlos reached out to some Umbrella rejects asking for help. He was able to secure us with Fake IDs and badges.

It wasn't until a month ago when one of Jill's contacts reached out to her. They told her that there was something going on in the Detroit facility. They had brought in a woman around the time of the destruction of the city who was presumably dead. They said that she was taken to a secure part of the the compound and she hadn't been seen since.

"Look I don't know what they were working on in the Hive. The modified the virus and mutated it." I explained as we all sat in the dingy hotel.

"Is it possible that she could still be alive?" Jill asked outright. I looked at her before I sipped some of my beer.

"The T-virus reanimates dead cells. In small doses or counteracted with the antidote it's possible I guess. I don't know what they've done with the virus though. It's possible that if we met up with her she wouldn't be all human."

Carlos looked over to me furrowing his brows. "What do you mean not human?" He asked.

"Yeah I'm with him on this. The fuck does that mean?" he said.

"L.J.!" I exclaimed as I looked over to the bed. Angie was still passed out, not knowing any of the current conversation. "That thing, that creature that fought Alice…. He protected her from the helicopter fire. The way it all went down, I think it was once human."

"Hell no." L.J. said before he stopped to think about it. "It did speak."

"What do you mean it spoke?" Jill asked.

"When it attacked the S.T.A.R.S. building, I was in it. It shot out all the officers and left me. It said 'stars'." L.J. explained.

Jill swallowed her emotions for her fallen comrades. Even if it had been months since the incident, there were times when it felt like it was just yesterday. The wounds were still fresh.

"Umbrella is capable of anything." I spoke in a low whisper. "They have no ethics or morals. No compassion for human life. If they reanimate Alice, she could be completely different."

The following morning we came up with a plan to get Alice out of there. Whether it was her corpse, a mutated version of herself, or God willing the real Alice we would get her out. We planned it statigically. We stole corporate Umbrella vehicles and the night of we killed some of the guards for their clothes to blend in. We had a plan, we were literally going to walk in through the front door and get her out.

I taught Angie how to drive the vehicle we would be in. Just in case we didn't make it out. Since she would be hiding in the back, she needed to get out on her own. Jill set her up with contacts, just in case. Jill said she trusted them with her life, and I trusted Jill.

None of us spoke in the car as L.J. drove us up the the facility. Not until we saw Alice standing on the front steps in a doctor's jacket with her hands wrapped around her body. It was like she was expecting us to be there.U.B.C.S. and other security forces stood around, guns drawn at her as we pulled up.

"Here goes nothing." I muttered under my breath as Jill, Carlos and I got out of the car walking towards where Alice was.

"Thank you, gentlemen. We will take it from here." Jill said cooly.

One of the guards looked us up and down. "On whose authority?" he asked with a deep voice.

Carlos stepped up. "Classified, Level six authorization" Carlos said smoothly. I glanced back to him for a millisecond, our eyes catching. The last couple of months we had bonded, all of us had really. Not really a choice all being fugitives. Carlos and I would occasionally flirt. It wasn't all bad really, not all work. We did have a couple of good times.

The soldier looked at our badges, my heart was beating out of my chest but I remained calm. "Sorry sir." the guard said, acting as if he had just offended the Queen. I walked up to Alice and smiled as I guided her down to the car. I was relieved to see that she at least looked like a normal human, like herself. We all packed into the car. Once the door was closed L.J. drove us away from the facility. When we made our way down the street Angie popped out of the back. I reached Alice and smiled, I guided her down to the car. We all packed into the car. Angie was hidden in the back seat.

Carlos looked back from his seat in the front. "Good to have you back." he said with a smile.

Angie looked over to Alice quizzically. "Are you alright?" she asked when Alice had not answered Carlos.

"What did they do to you?" Jill asked. Alice stared at all of us, at one point making me think we had made a mistake. She then smiled and said she was fine.

The rest of the ride to our hideout was silent and uncomfortable. I just hoped that they hadn't messed her up too much.

I prayed that we hadn't made a huge colossal mistake.
