Summary: first try for Alex_Damien's (http:// www. fanfiction. net/ u/ 1710708/ Alex_Damien minus space) comment: "Best thing about GaWol? Garland is the more human and emotional one. Hell, yeah."
A/N: Exactly what the summary says: my first try for the inspiriting sentence(s). I just made it a whole lot different
"Doesn't that hurt?"
A horned helmet clattered when it rolled across the floor.
The warrior of Light picked up his sword from where it lay by his feet, and the old Chaos shrine echoed when metal scraped against stone. "What?" he tried to wipe some blood off of his face with the back of his right hand and failed miserably, the result being a big vermilion blotch on the now deathly-pale skin. Garland flinched.
"I believe I have crushed your ribs, impaled your shoulder, beat you into a bloody bag of bruises, and yet you continue to stand up and fight me." The nemesis took a step back when Light stepped forward. "You must be insane."
"Maybe I'm good at controlling my facial expressions and ignore what my body insists I should do?" the warrior countered and grabbed one of the horns of his helmet: It literally shattered into pieces when it left the ground.
"Or maybe," Garland muttered, waving a finger at his archenemy "... Just maybe you're suffering from a concussion."
The paragon didn't say a word. The other tilted his head and started to walk towards him, knowing that the warrior of Light didn't let go of a chance to get the last word.
"... Warrior?" he said, waving a hand in front of the face of the other, when he didn't get a reaction, he poked Light in the chest with a pointy nail of his.
The warrior of Light fell backwards like a log.
Never had he been so worried about someone other than himself.
Garland watched the warrior turn beneath the purple of his cape, sighing in his sleep. It was.... adorable, in a weird way.
He looked up to the ceiling. Maybe, this was the turning point of this hero-villain relationship of theirs? He smiled inside: it would be quite a relief to have a pause from beating up the Cosmos Warriors, even if Chaos would argue about the question.
He sighed and closed his eyes, deciding that a short rest would do no harm. Soon, his breath fell into the pace of someone asleep.
Maybe, just maybe, the next day would be different from the others.
