He laughed. Why? I didn't even know myself, to say the truth, but he laughed. He laughed as he stared at his grave. I knew he should be crying and begging for forgiveness, yet he laughed, laughed like there was no tomorrow. I stared at him, awed by his emotions.

"Heh. Ryuk, can ya believe it?! He's dead! Finally! Dead! I beat him! I outsmarted L!" He threw back his head and laughed. I couldn't even really believe him, believe that he was laughing at the number one detective's grave, might as well say laughing in his face. He had no pity….no empathy at all. He just murdered him not three days ago and yet he was laughing.

The first sob that racked his body was barely noticeable, but I noticed it. I noticed how he curled in on himself, how his laughter slowly quieted down, and how his sobs grew more frequent. "Light?" I stepped closer, wanting to comfort the young man.

"I killed him, Ryuk. How could I? He loved me so much….how could I just play him like that?!" His fists curled and he fell to his knees, sobbing uncontrollably. The young male bent his head back and let out a heart wrenching scream which ended in sobs.

"….I loved him, Ryuk."

And that admittance was the beginning of his madness.
