Snow Watching

This story almost turned into a Christmas story, but it was the 23rd and I had to do Baci so I put it aside. Now I'm typing it as my last official 2009 story. Tomorrow will be the New Years story and then that's it for this year. Wow!

Disclaimer: Pierogies are really yummy.

Snow Watching

Lithuania liked to lie down in the fields of rye when he felt too overwhelmed. He liked the quiet they offered along with the comfort. Toris liked to come here when he felt as though everything around him seemed to be closing in. The openness of the fields allowed his mind to be at ease and for his nerves to settle down. Most of all, he liked to stare at the sky and not think of a single thing. The sky was vast and clear and when the stars came out, they shone brightly.

Poland was busy inside the house he shared with Lithuania. He was flipping through a magazine when he glanced up and saw that it was already past nine o'clock. It was odd that Toris wasn't back inside yet. He had told the blonde haired man some hours ago that he needed some time alone. Feliks knew what that meant and had said nothing, but now he was worried.

Since he couldn't sit idly anymore, Poland went to get his jacket, put on his boots and went outside. He was expecting to see Toris sitting on his favourite rock, but the rock was as bare as it usually was. As Feliks continued searching, it started snowing. Poland was getting more worried by the minute.

"Liet, this is, like, so not funny anymore." He thought to himself. He turned a corner and saw Toris lying on the ground, immobile. Feliks froze for a moment before he ran to him and threw himself at Lithuania's feet. He brushed the thin layer of snow and was immensely relieved when those emerald green eyes opened and looked at him.

"Feliks, what are you doing here?" Lithuania asked as he brushed off some more snow from himself.

"Like, checking up on you, you idiot. You totally fell asleep outside and it's, like, cold. God, Liet, I was totally worried."

"I'm sorry." The brunette said simply.

"Are you, like, feeling alright?" Toris took the other's hand and gave it a warm squeeze as a response.

"I'm getting there, just stay here with me." Lithuania pulled Poland close to him. Feliks put his head on his partner's shoulder. They remained together, holding on to each other as the snow continued to fall. After a long moment of silence, Feliks finally spoke up.

"What's on your mind, Liet?"

"I'm just thinking that if I could spend the rest of my life lying here with you, I would be perfectly content." Poland shifted slightly until he was looking into his companion's eyes.

"I totally love you. You know that, right?" As an answer, Toris smiled, tilted Feliks' chin upwards and placed a soft kiss to his lips. The snow around them continued to fall.

OWARI

Short, but it is meant to be short and have a sort of melancholic feeling? I don't know. Snow watching is fun and it makes you think. It also makes you feel serene.

Well, hope you enjoyed!

Reviews, no matter how short, even if they are anonymous, mean a lot to me and let me know that my writing brings emotions to you readers out there. I see you, the ones who only favourite, the ones who add me to alert, don't think I don't. Even if it's just an exclamation point, it warms my heart.
