No Valentine's Chapter but lookie here! It's like I haven't updated in forever :'( I know. I'm sorry. Here I am!
Kaito rapped grumpily on the front door of the Kudou mansion, impatiently tapping his fingers on the door in wait for the (no doubt sleeping) detective to wake up and trudge down to answer it.
Shinichi, looking expectedly groggy, answered the door in his pajamas. "Kaito…what's up?"
Kaito pushed past Shinichi and into the house. "Well first of all, it's already past noon. Why were you still in bed?" Shinichi opened his mouth to answer, but Kaito didn't let him. "Don't give me the excuse about your case with the police running late last night!"
Shinichi was quiet for a moment, then raised an eyebrow. "But that's exactly what happened. Are you upset for some reason?" He led Kaito into the kitchen where he began boiling water for tea.
"What's today's date?" Kaito asked accusingly.
"February 16," Shinichi answered promptly, reaching into the cupboard to retrieve cups for the tea.
The magician scoffed and crossed his arms across his chest, sending Shinichi an accusatory glare. "You know the date perfectly well, so what's your excuse?"
"Excuse for what?" Shinichi asked, turning around and beginning to look irritated. "I have no clue what you're talking about. Did I forget something important? It's not your birthday; I'd never forget that."
"Astute," Kaito commented. "You probably just know it's sometime during the summer. But you really didn't remember?"
Shinichi took the kettle off of the stove as the water began to boil. He sighed, glancing up at Kaito and placing the kettle down. "Just tell me what it was."
"Valentine's Day!" Kaito insisted loudly, throwing his hands up in exasperation. "It was two days ago—I even gave you an extra day if you forgot."
Shinichi froze, blinking. "Oh," he said slowly, stepping toward Kaito and patting his shoulder. "I…Okay, I'm sorry. I did forget. But it's not like it was an important holiday or anything."
"Not important?" Kaito asked. "Okay, well. Fine. It's not like I got you anything for it either!"
Shinichi looked at him, raising his eyebrows. "Did you get me something?"
"Nope!" Kaito doggedly denied.
"Oh, too bad," Shinichi chuckled. "I actually did get you something."
"What?" Kaito asked, his face brightening. "You did?"
"Yep, but I can't give it to you."
Kaito grabbed the tea that Shinichi offered him, and turned his lips down into a pout. "Why not? You know I love chocolate."
"Did I say it was chocolate?"
Kaito turned and walked out of the kitchen, wandering through the large house. He tried to think about what Shinichi would have gotten him, and he eventually found himself plopping onto the couch in the living room. Shinichi trailed behind, settling in beside him.
"I've decided that you have to give me that present," Kaito said, leveling Shinichi with a determined stare.
"Why?" Shinichi asked with a smirk.
"Because…I want it."
The detective sat back and laughed. "Okay, okay, here." He faced Kaito, noticing the magician bounce happily, and frowned. "Stop doing that," he commanded, placing a hand on Kaito's shoulder to steady his movement. "Here."
And Shinichi leaned in to kiss Kaito with all he had. Kaito was surprised, but he grabbed at Shinichi's shirt to pull him in closer, and gracefully deepened the kiss while slowly pushing Shinichi down onto the couch.
"Kaito," Shinichi mumbled around Kaito's mouth.
"Mm?" the magician asked, shifting up a bit so Shinichi could speak.
"What did you get me, anyway?"
"Chocolate, of course."
"Oh. Can I have it now?"
"Nope."
"Why not?"
Kaito smirked and rubbed his nose against Shinichi's. "You know you didn't actually get me a present. Don't think you distracted me with all this kissing."
"Mm, but I did distract you. Obviously. I guess I'll just have to try harder then."
Kaito kissed Shinichi's jawbone, then cheek. "Then maybe I'll forget that you didn't honor a sacred tradition."
Shinichi licked along Kaito's bottom lip and then snorted very unattractively. "Sacred tradition, my ass. Every time I try to do something for Valentine's Day, someone gets killed. How sacred can that be?"
"Shh," Kaito instructed, holding Shinichi's face firmly and kissing him.
Woot, reference to at least two episodes! xD Those Valentine episodes…man. They're so funny. Anyway, thanks for sticking with me. I'm stupid and I always forget to update, even though I love to write. I sometimes don't have time, but that's just an excuse. Ugh. I'll try harder!
Hey, since I'm here…I made this page a while ago to basically ask for donations to my not-so-noble cause. I really want to go on my senior trip and I'm trying to fundraise for it but I don't have much time. So, you know, if any of you want to donate like, any amount of money at all, it would be extremely appreciated. I have full info in this link, and I don't want to sound like I'm begging for money or anything, haha, so sorry if I am coming off this way. Also if you can't afford it and you have any ideas for extra fundraising, please let me know! I'm trying so hard to do this, ugh. Also if you do decide to donate, I'll write you a short fan fic to say thanks! I'm already in the process of doing this for a very nice person who donated a lot to me, and I'm busy, so it'll take some time, but I'll do it for sure. Anyway, enough babbling. I need to go eat some soup or something. Link: gofundme (dotcom)/6r1eh4 (This is in April so if you see this after then don't bother looking, haha!)
Thanks for reading! Please review! I'll try to update soon! Bye :)
