A/N: I've been trying to think of a way to break into the every protective world of Glee fanfiction and this is what I came up with. I know it's quite short – almost all my one shots are – but it doesn't have anything to do with my OC obsession so count yourselves lucky! Anyway, I'd love to see what you think!
It was one of those things you'd always imagined happening to someone else.
Well, it wasn't happening to her, so it didn't really count, but Quinn was in Glee, and they were sort-of-almost-friends, right? It's like you lived in a little protective bubble, where nothing bad ever happens to you or anyone you know, and you never fully realize what you hear on the news happens to real people until it's staring you in the face, unblinking and just daring you to turn away.
She was standing in the hallway, leaning against the lockers with her books held tightly against her chest, just leaning back and watching with a bored expression as people sped by at different speeds, stopping to chat with friends or find the books they needed before loudly slamming their lockers. It never really registered in her mind to think about everything as she did now, one hand playing idly with the blue strip in her hair. They just kept walking, like nothing had changed. Like the world just kept turning, every day the same, completely ignorant of the life shattering discovery just down the hall. They were like she, and the rest of Glee club were all those weeks ago, before the cat jumped, screeching and scrabbling, out of the metaphorical bag.
"Hey Tee." Mercedes called as she walked past, turning her head back slightly as she quickly flashed her pearly white teeth to her unique friend. Kurt, who was walking with his cool, poised expression and stance, nodded his head at her in his own form of recognition. Tina smiled an absent, lazy smile in return, pushing herself with unneeded force from her spot against the lockers and lazily making her way to class. She dodged the other students with practiced ability, strafing quickly to the left as a locker door flew open with intended malice.
Nope, nothing had changed for them. The world just kept turning in its own, ignorant way.
And if everything was so different for Tina, she couldn't imagine what it must be like for the girl who was actually pregnant.
At first I had no idea who was talking, so I just totally made it up as I went along :p Review, I'd love to know what you think!
