A Flaw in the Plan
Brain slammed his head against the drawing board for the fifth time that evening.
The plan should have been perfect, it should have worked. Everything was in place that it would be the one to grant him world domination. But there was that flaw, right there, staring him in the face. No matter what he did, he couldn't fix that flaw without destroying the rest of the plan. That flaw that couldn't be, it couldn't be allowed to remain, the flaw was not worth it.
He looked at the plan from the beginning, how the machine would work, where Pinky would stand, how fast it would work and how it would work on the populace. The problem was that where Pinky stood, there would have to be water as well. Too much water for him to survive in. That was the flaw, he could have the world or he could have Pinky. He slammed his head against the drawing board again.
"Brain, what are we going to do tonight?" Pinky asked him from a few feet away.
Brain looked at the plan once more, they could do it, even with the few hours that they had left in the evening. But...
He reached up and tore the plan away from his drawing board.
"We're not going to do anything tonight, Pinky," the Brain said. "Come, what do you want to do?"
"There's a Three's Company marathon on tonight!" Pinky said.
"That would be fine, Pinky."
He looked at his friend.
The world was important, it was worth taking over. But there were some things that were more important.
