I do not own T.D.I or any of the characters *sob* Also if you guys see the line in there its a different persons Point of View. I try to do it another way but it just doesn't let me. Hopefully you can tell whos it is. ENJOY!
I wonder what time it is now. After the absence of Gwen at dinner tonight I've been quite worried. It was hard to just sit there while everyone else clearly didn't care, I even took it upon myself to go looking for her. It was approaching dark by the time I had started searching for her so I couldn't go too far into the woods. If I asked the crew to go looking for Gwen that would just raise suspicion, it's been hard enough to keep the cameras off all this drama. Ironic isn't it. Tomorrow is going to be a big day. If she isn't back by morning I am going to have to go out there. I doubt that tonight will be filled with any sleep.
Urghh what happened, my head is killing me. I try to open my eyes but the pain is unbearable. Maybe if I just go back to sleep the pain will go away. Wait. Oh no. no, no, no, no. This didn't happen. I bolt upright only to realise that was a mistake. My head pounding and my ankle sending an agonizing pain straight up my leg. This isn't good. Its night time and I am still in my swimmers from earlier today. I must have dropped my clothes when I took that fall. How have I only just realized the freezing cold temperature? I start shivering uncontrollably while taking in my surroundings. I can hardly see anything beyond the tree line as the shine of the moon can't break through the thick forest. I can hear rustling coming from the forest. I hope to god whatever it is out there doesn't come for me. Let's just hope these scrubs hide me well enough from whatever creature is out there.
I roll over in my bed and get blinded by the sun coming through my trailer window. I go to turn away when I realise its morning. I jolt upright from my slumber and head over to the shower. While I wait for the water to go warm I strip out of my stripped pyjama pants and look at my reflection in the mirror. You can do it Chris. You will find Gwen and make sure she is safe or better yet alive. I don't think I could live with myself if I found out she was mauled by some kind of wild animal.
After my morning preparations are done I head over to Chefs quarters. I knock on his trailer and wait patiently for him to answer.
"Who is at my door this early in the morning?"
"Chef it's me, Chris. I need to talk to you about something."
"Ok give me a minute to get dressed."
I give Chef all the time he needs to get ready, I don't really want to get on his bad side today. We head over to the breakfast buffet table and sit amongst the other production workers. I don't really have much of an appetite but I take some fruit and sit with Chef. After some discussion on what will be happening today Chef gets up to prepare. I've asked him to keep the campers busy with the challenge today and not to go easy on them.
I make my way back over to the buffet table and grab some fruit and bottles of water to take on this trip. I'm sure Gwen will be hungry and thirsty if she has been out there all night. I go back to my trailer and grab my backpack, a coat as it is quite chilly today and my joggers. I take out a map and look at the area that Gwen ran off too and look at its surroundings. After memorising the path I am going to take I shove the map back in my bag and head off hoping I wasn't too late to help her.
After what seems like hours of walking I reach a clearing. I look around and see that there are two possible ways Gwen could have gone. I take out my map and study the areas the pathways lead to. The first path goes straight around the forest and ends up to the beach where we have done challenges before, the other one goes further into the dense forest with some gulley's here and there. I go with my gut instinct and choose the second path knowing that if Gwen took the path to the beach she would have been able to make her way back to camp last night.
I think I walk twenty minutes into the forest and I come to the first gulley. It is a pretty steep one by the looks of it so I have to be careful. As I am descending into it I notice an article of clothing. I go to scoop it up and see that is a small black crop top with a purple jewelled skull printed on the front. Putting two and two together I realise that this belongs to Gwen. I look around me and can't see anything. No Gwen in sight.
"GWEN!" I shout out hoping I will get an answer. Please answer me Gwen.
"GWEN ARE YOU THERE?"
I don't get the respond that I hope for, so I start to descend down further. I nearly lose my footing on the loose dirt underneath my feet. I stumble forward and catch myself on the giant rock halfway down the hill. I see another article of clothing lying next to the boulder and notice it is Gwens purple short shorts that she wears around camp. I pick them up and place them in my backpack along with her shirt.
"Elp"
My head shoots up and instantly looks for the source of the noise.
"Help." There it is again, faint but I can hear it being carried by the wind.
I go as fast as I can down the hill without hurting myself and look around trying to assess the area. There are some thick scrubs on the gulley floor and I hope I will find Gwen in one of them. I start over to the left making my way backwards, having no such luck I jog over to the other side. Suddenly I trip on something and I fall face first into a bush, the pain instant. Sitting up I look down and see what appears to be a girl groaning in pain.
"I can't believe I've found you."
"Alright maggots listen up, today is challenge day. You will be competing against one another in a paintball challenge. I don't want any mercy shown. The person who gets hit the most today will be leaving this competition no questions asked. Go get your guns we will start in T-minus 2 minutes. GO, GO, GO!"
I watch as all the campers scurry away some grabbing guns and heading off into the maze full of obstacle we had built and some standing around trying to team up.
"You only have 30 seconds. You better make the most of it." This gets the stragglers to run into the maze with just seconds to spare.
"3..."
"2..."
"1...WAR IS ON!"
I try to call out hoping that someone will come to my rescue. It's nearly been a whole day that I've been stuck out here. My throat is so dry its becoming too hard to shout out. No one will be able to hear me. I don't give up that easy but this is starting to take its toll on me. I'm lying here in my swimmers for crying out loud. Just the sight of me would be unruly. I sigh in frustration reaching up and placing my hands under my head. Well at least I can look up at the clear blue sky and imagine someone coming to me rescue.
I'm lost in my thoughts when all of a sudden a solid mass hits my ankle at a fast speed causing a stinging, sharp pain shooting up my leg making tears well up in my eyes. I can't help but let out a throaty groan letting whoever know that ran into me the pain they caused.
"I can't believe I've found you."
I look up to see the scratched up face of Chris looking down at me. I'm overwhelmed with happiness and anger at the same time. Happy that I am saved and angry for at him being the cause of this pain. If it wasn't for him letting Heather have her way with him again this wouldn't have happened.
I sit up trying to get away from him but it's just no use. The uncomfortable feeling from my ankle is not allowing me to do anything, so I just cross my arms and turn away from him. Hoping my dramatic actions will let him know to leave me alone.
"Gwen what happened to you. Are you ok?"
I go to open my mouth to speak but no words seem to want to form. I try to swallow but it feels like razor blades. Chris notices my discomfort and hands me a water bottle from his backpack. I hesitantly take it from him and twist open the cap. I take the biggest gulp of water and instantly feel relief. I drink about half of the bottle of water before speaking to him.
"Thanks. I was running when I slipped and fell down into this gulley. I hit some of the boulders on the way down and I think I've sprained my ankle."
"Well it's a good thing that I've found you. I can help you get back."
"I don't want your help. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be here in the first place!"
"You are one to talk Gwen. Every few minutes is a different guy for you."
Oh he did not just go there. "Just leave me alone. I want nothing to do with you!"
"Fine if that's how you want it to be. See you later. Have fun getting back."
With that said, Chris walks away into the forest and leaves me there. All by myself again.
"Shit."
I can't believe her stubbornness. She would rather sit there and probably freeze to death or die of starvation than let me help her. I came here thinking this would be easy but Gwen is proving to be rather difficult as usual. I can't just leave her here to die either. It's just not right. After clearing my head and calming down I decide to go back to her. The sooner we get this done she can go back to hating me.
I step out from the forest line and see her just sitting there, crying. Great. Don't I just look like the bad guy again. I walk to Gwen and crouch down next to her.
"Look, let's just get this over and done with so we can go back to avoiding each other. We seem to be good at that."
I hear a stifle her sobs. "Ok. I'm sorry for not accepting your help the first time. I'm just not good at all this heartfelt stuff."
"Why don't we just get back to camp first and get this ankle looked at, then we can get down to talking."
"Ok. You are going to have to help me stand up first."
"Before we go I picked up some of your clothes on the way. You might want to put them."
"Well you are going to have to help me with the shorts then."
I pull the articles of clothing out of my pack and hand her the crop top. I watch her pull it over her head and wait for the instructions to put on her shorts. With some struggle and pain we finally get them on.
"You know I'm normally undressing you. Not the other way round."
"Oh shush Chris." I flinch pretending that her slap hurt me.
"That wasn't very nice Gwen."
I wrap my hand around her waist being careful to go at a pace that won't her too much. She hoists her arm around my neck as she stands shifting all her weight onto her right leg. We start to move at slow pace, Gwen limping next to me, trying not to let me see how much pain she is in. It doesn't really fool me. After about half an hour we make it back up to the top of the gulley. Deciding that it will take too long to make it back to camp with her limping as slow as she does, I pick her up bridal style. This earns me a little shriek out of Gwen.
"Chris what are you doing!?"
"It was taking too long. If we do it this way we can cover more ground quicker."
I assumed that it was fine as Gwen didn't put up much of a fight. "There is also some fruit in the bag if you are hungry."
"Really? Thanks Chris."
"No problem." We walk together in silence for a while, Gwen obviously becoming bored quickly after eating her apple.
"Let's play a game."
"Ok what do you have in mind?"
"What about I spy? I'll go first. I spy with my little eye, something beginning with J."
"What could there possibly be in the woods starting with J? Jaguar? No that can't be it. Jagged rock? No. I don't know. I give up"
"It's a Jerk."
"Hey that's not fair. Low blow Gwen. Ok then. I spy with my little eye, something beginning with B."
"Oh bird. It's gotta be a bird. Boulder? Bush?"
"No it's a bitch."
The only thing this game did was make us mad at each other again.
"Wooohooo. This is the best!" I look over at Duncan who is of course enjoying himself in other people's torture. It's surprising how well some of the other campers are doing. Bridgette and Geoff have teamed up and are annihilating people, LeShawna, Trent and Heather are somewhere in the middle of dominating and trailing behind at the same time, the rest are just sucking big time.
"Alright campers your time is nearly up. You have 1 minute remaining. Go big or go hooooooome!"
It's amusing how pathetic they all look, trying to be the one that doesn't get sent packing. Well it most definitely is going to be a close call between certain campers. I tell them to line up in front of me so I can assess the damage.
"Well we do have a clean winner here. Didn't get shot once. Duncan step out of line and stand over there."
"Do I get anything for winning old man?"
"Yeah you do. Not going home."
What a little shit head. Thinks he can talk to me like that. He is lucky I don't pummel him into next week.
"If I say your name you are also safe from walking the dock of shame. Izzy, Bridgette, Geoff, Trent, LeShawna, Heather, Owen and DJ. That means that Lindsay and Harold, one of you is about to go homeā¦.Lindsay you got shot a total of 43 times. Harold you got shot a ridiculous 82 times. Sorry but it's time to leave camp Wawanaka effective immediately."
"Oh man. This sucks. Well LeShawna baby, remember that I love you. Wait for me."
I think I'm going to be sick. I'm not sticking around to see the mushy stuff. If the kids need me they can find me in my trailer.
"I'm taking the rest if the day off. Everyone is free do to their own thing. No one better disturb me."
As Chris trudges on angrily, I can do nothing but sit in his arms while he does it. We haven't spoken a word to each other since that I spy game we played. To be honest I could have played properly but I just couldn't help it. He has hurt me so many times in the short course of being at camp Wawanaka. I have never felt this way about anyone before and in such a small time too. I just wish he knew how I felt.
"Gwen I need to stop for a moment. I'm getting exhausted."
He places me down to rest upon the stump of a tree. I watch him as he sits down and pulls out a water bottle. I admire the way his biceps flex as he twists the cap of the bottle off. He takes a mouthful of water while wiping the sweat off his brow. I've never watched him this intently before, it's kind of mesmerizing.
"What has you staring?"
The sound of Chris's voice brings me out of my day dreaming. I blush immediately feeling my face heat up. I'm sure I look like a beetroot right now.
"Sorry. I was just thinking about some things."
"Did you want to talk about it?"
When he asks me that question it leaves me dumbfounded. I'm not sure that I really want to talk to him about anything, but it might be the only chance we get without any interruptions.
"Well I guess we could talk about all the shit we have put each other through. I'm not good at this feelings talk crap but I am willing to try. I hate feeling whatever this is I am feeling. "
"I think it is called heartache. I've had my fair share of heartache over the years but never has anyone made me feel the way you make me feel Gwen."
"Seeing you with queen bitch Heather just did something to me. I-I thought you cared for me, felt the same way I did for you. I believed you would wait for me when I told you I didn't want a relationship on camera. At this stupid camp." I can feel the tears that are slowly falling down my face, they feel so warm compared to how I feel right now.
I look over to see Chris scooting closer to me. He turns to face me, bringing his hands up to cup my face. He uses his thumbs to gently wipe my tears away, smiling softly at me as I sniffle. I take my hands and place them over his. We stare into each other's eyes for what seems like an eternity.
"If you don't mind Gwen I would like things to go back to how they were at the beginning. We could take it slow, do things carefully. Not let Heather get in the way. All I know is one thing. I want to have you in my life, I want to have someone who will care for me, who I can care for. If it's something you are willi-"
"Chris. Please stop talking." I lean forward and kiss him with passion. Passion I have never felt leave my body before. Being with Chris brings me so much pleasure it scares me. He pulls back and leans his forehead on mine.
"So I take that as I yes?"
"Yes you idiot."
"Thanks for coming out with me tonight Izzy. This should be a good date."
"Aww its ok Owen. I love spending time with you."
We walk over to the picnic rug (more like bedsheet) that I have set up in the clearing of the forest under the full moon. I scavenged around for the food and I have to say I am impressed with myself. I managed to get some fruit, some juice to drink, and even an apple pie. Chef probably won't be happy to find some of his stuff missing from the kitchen.
I grab Izzy's hand and help her sit.
"Milady."
"Hehe thank you sir."
We move around getting comfortable lying down gazing at the stars. "I'm going to be really sad if one of us gets eliminated. You make this competition bearable Iz."
"I know Owen. Why don't we just make the most of it while we are here?"
She gets up and leans over me. I see her head slowly coming down as I realise what she is doing. I brace myself for the kiss, but I wasn't ready for the amount of passion she is putting into it. Things start to get a little heated and before I know it I have rolled us over and now Izzy is underneath me. My hands trail up her petite body coming up to cup her breasts. I look down at her to see her reaction but she doesn't seem to mind. I go back to caressing her slowly squeezing her hard nubs that have formed underneath her shirt.
We are too caught up in our sexual happenings that we don't notice the two figures that come through into the clearing.
"Woah what do we have here?"
I stop what I am doing and look up, startled out of the moment. "Chris? Gwen? What are you guys doing out here?"
"Chris came to find me after I got lost in the woods. I think I sprained my ankle why I took a nasty fall out there."
"Why didn't he set up a rescue team?"
"I wanted to keep her disappearance to a minimum, didn't want no lawsuits coming my way." I break eye contact from Gwen to look at Chris. I don't want to push any more questions. It's suspicious enough as it is. Gwen is my friend and if she wanted to tell me something then she would.
I watch them walk away from us turning back to Izzy after they left.
"Well that spoiled the mood."
By the time we had walked back to my trailer Gwen had fallen asleep. As I still had to get the medic to come look at her ankle I decide to put her in my trailer for the time being. I place her down on the bed, about to turn away when she grabs me and pulls me down. I quickly glance over to her noticing that she is still asleep. She embraces my body tightly against hers causing me to feel every curve of her body. I don't know what I should do. Do I go and get the medic or should I just let her stay here asleep and let Gwen get her strength back up?
I'll let her stay her for the night. I'm sure she just wants to rest in comfort. I lay there for a while just thinking over things. Today was a pretty good day. Everything turned out well and a lot of drama got resolved. I think things between Gwen and I will slowly start to return to normal. I definitely see a lot of her in my future. Slowly my thoughts turn to nothing as I eventually succumb to sleep.
Little did they know that a certain someone was watching them through the trailer window silently seething.
