Disclaimer: I don't own Code Geass
Maybe it was fate that a demon-king would fall for a witch.
Both of them were outcast from heaven and more or less are servants for the devil, at least that is what people said. But Lelouch wasn't one to believe in gods or the devil, although he sure believed in an afterlife after his last trip to C-World.
Lelouch wasn't really a "demon," despite what the general public thought, and C.C. wasn't really a "witch," either. He supposed that it was because of the power of the Geass that people referred to him in such a way, and why they burned and tortured C.C. in the past.
C.C. couldn't cast spells or potions or anyone -- despite the fact that some people probably believed that she cast love spells because of her power of Geass -- before the nun forced the code on the eighteen-year-old girl.
Lelouch didn't really have horns -- which was something from a horror movie, or a child's imagination that would cause them to have nightmares but perhaps he was a demon in the disguise of a human from the moment he made the contract with her almost three years ago.
Lelouch had always craved revenge against his father for the incident that had happened, and although he now knew the truth, he still couldn't let go of the hatred he felt towards him.
But despite all that had happened, Lelouch honestly couldn't say that he regretted meeting C.C.; nor was he lying when he said that he didn't hate her shortly before they won the war against the Black Knights, his brother, and the other forces.
Lelouch also knew that he would never be able to get close to fulfilling his revenge and building a better world for his younger sister if he never met C.C..
Lelouch's lavender eyes landed on the emerald-haired witch lying spread out on the bed, her green locks fanned out on the red silken sheets, and clothed in a long, formal black dress that had a similar design to his white emperor robes. It was his own personal request that she wore black instead of white after experiencing enough of her in her white prisoner outfit.
Lelouch remembered telling C.C. in a teasing tone that witches always wore black in the movies, and witch costumes for Halloween were also in black.
C.C. slightly smirked before taking the black dress in her hands, knowing that she was going to have play her part, as well as being his empress.
A Demon King and a Witch Queen.
Lelouch wondered if that would be their titles in the history books; how "Zero" would assassinate the Demon King during his victory parade.
But Lelouch knew that C.C. wouldn't be with him during that parade, and he preferred it that way that way so she wouldn't be executed or imprisoned for the rest of her life, especially if they realized who she was.
Lelouch sat on the bed, slightly shifting his body so he was staring at his lover's face. While her eyes might have been closed, he knew that she wasn't asleep.
"Do demons and witches get happy endings?" he asked softly, intertwining his fingers with her closest hand. C.C. opened her golden eyes which met his light, lavender ones, and her lips curled into a sad smile.
"Never," she answered softly, staring at their joined hands, "because we are sinners and have fallen from grace."
"But we might as well make the best of it," Lelouch said softly, pressing his lips against hers. In another week, Zero would kill him, and Lelouch figured the only happy ending he and C.C. could get right now was the week they spent together. Because in the end, C.C. was right; demons and witches weren't mean to live happily ever after.
